Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel: "I like a lot how my team approaches these matches because we put in a lot of effort and a lot of intensity.

After losing their opening match in Switzerland, Manchester United have won both games against their biggest rivals, Villarreal and Atalanta. United's chance of progress to the last-16 has therefore improved to 85% but this will drop if they do not get at least a point at Atalanta this week. United are the only English club with less than 96% chance of reaching the knockout phase at this point.

Atalanta head coach Gian Piero Gasperini has backed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to take Manchester United back to the top.

"I can only talk about what I've seen in terms of the way they play and the results they've got," he said.

"I think they had an incredible run towards the back end of last season. They finished as runners-up and then they lost the Europa League final, but he certainly did a top-class job.

"This year I think he's still trying to find consistency with a team that has a great deal of potential and they've shown that from time to time.

"But I really believe that he will find the right fit and he will be able to take Manchester United back to the top, and that includes in the Premier League."

A serial winner with Premier League success on his CV, a single-minded disciplinarian and an astute tactician. It is easy to see why Tottenham have appointed Antonio Conte as their new manager.

But with an out-of-form squad, a lack of recent investment and a star player who was eager to leave in the summer, perhaps the more pertinent question is, why is Conte joining Tottenham now?
