    Man City 1-1 Club Bruges

Kyle Walker lines up a shot from downtown but it's straight at Stanley N'Soki, who threw himself at the drive.

Now Joao Cancelo's 25-yard curler is deflected by a defender's boot over the bar.

    Much better from City.

    Diogo Jota (48 mins)

Joel Matip goes for a wander in midfield and slides it through to Diogo Jota.

It's way too easy! Jota just places it in the net.

There will be a VAR check for offside though...

Garrett T Switzer: Some terrible red cards today between Humels and Felipe. Imagine having a VAR system in place to legislate armpit offside, but totally ineffective against just plain referee stupidity and pride.

Seth Gogo Egoeh: One of the most ridiculous red cards ever! And I'm surprised some people are actually trying to defend the shameless decision. The referee was controlled by his emotions there. Very poor decision by all standards.

  8. KICK-OFFpublished at 21:02 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2021

    Man City 1-1 Club Bruges

The referee's whistle and a Manchester City player kicking the ball in the middle of the pitch lets us know the second half is under way.

It's fair to say Man City have been on top but there have been a few signs of Club Bruges getting a bit more confident and encouraged. In their front two they have been able to stretch the game in behind City's defence and that forces City to react and Bruges can have a bit of play.

It's not like Bruges have had all the possession in the world but they do fancy their chances. They've had a few shots and earned the right to be there so City need to be at their best.

When City stretch the game they look dangerous - their biggest chances have come when they've been more dynamic.

    Man City 1-1 Club Bruges

Ederson made three saves in the first half and Club Bruges' Simon Mignolet is yet to make one.

City had nine shots to Club Bruges' four - but the Belgian side have hit the target with three of their four efforts.

Liverpool have been outstanding - really organised. Atletico have shot themselves in the foot with some of their actions and the cards they've picked up.

The way Liverpool have moved the ball, they've picked the right passes at the right time - Mohamed Salah is on it, Sadio Mane's movement is great, Diogo Jota has got himself a goal, Trent Alexander-Arnold is looking to score.

They all look really confident and I think there are more goals to come.

A win would see Ajax qualify from Group C this evening.

So far though they have been second best to the hosts who deserve their lead at the break.

Liverpool are in total command here. Atletico did not test Alisson when they had 11 men and they have shown no sign of managing it with 10.

It's been very positive from Liverpool. They are confidently stroking the ball about and Jordan Henderson is taking up some great positions.

That left-to-right ball that Virgil van Dijk loves to play is on every time.

For those asking, it went down as a straight red card for Felipe, not two yellow cards.

That's because the referee hadn't shown the yellow card he intended to. Felipe was blanking him so he couldn't...

Don't think he'll be ignoring the referee again any time soon.

  20. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:46 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2021

    Man City 1-1 Club Bruges

No injury time needed and the half-time whistle goes.

Pep Guardiola will have something to say to his City players about this. The equaliser was a freak but Club Bruges deserve to be level.
