Fabinho is three yards out. He can't sort his feet out and by the time he does Rodri came from nowhere. That was a certain goal but what a bit of defending that was.

    TACKLE OF THE SEASON!

Ederson comes out to try and clear a Mohamed Salah ball into the box, it is over him and to an unmarked Fabinho at the back stick. He's certain to score but Rodri comes out of nowhere and puts a boot in the way as Fabinho shoots.

    Liverpool 2-2 Man City

Kyle Walker launches a free kick well over after a set piece routine doesn't quite come together for Manchester City.

I keep looking at the clock and feel gutted that there's only a few minutes remaining. Could watch another 90 minutes of this.

This is an incredible game, it really is!

Foden down the left hand side picks out the right pass, it is Kyle Walker who steps over it. De Bruyne is coming in on his wrong foot and curls it, and it gets a deflection off of Matip.

    Kevin de Bruyne

    WHAT A GAME!

Liverpool are unable to clear a ball into the box properly and it comes out to Kevin de Bruyne, whose curled effort deflects off Joel Matip and into the back of the net.

Pep Guardiola explodes in relief and delight. With just under 10 minutes left you get the feeling there's more to come in this one.

To rub salt into the wound for Pep Guardiola he and Bernardo Silva are booked before James Milner, who should have had a second yellow card, is substituted as Joe Gomez comes on.

Oh my word, what have I just seen?! That is incredible!

That is just outstanding from Mo Salah!

He beats, three, four, five and then strikes it with his right foot. He has no right to score from that angle but what composure, that is just outstanding!

    Mohamed Salah

What a goal! What. A. Goal!

Surrounded by three Manchester City players and with his back to goal on the edge of the area, Mohamed Salah weaves into space, skips past another challenge before sending a fine strike into the bottom corner.

    Individual brilliance from Salah.

Pep Guardiola is fuming! James Milner sticks out a leg and sends Bernardo Silva flying. Remember he is on a yellow so has to go? Nothing.

I think Guardiola has every right to be angry there.

  15. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 72 mins

    Liverpool 1-1 Man City

Just before that goal Liverpool brought on Roberto Firmino for Diogo Jota.

Anfield was bouncing a moment ago but it is a little quieter now after that equaliser.

That is just pass, after pass. They go from the right hand side of the pitch. Jesus jinks between four or five players and he pings it to Foden.

Foden is on the angle, and he shoots across the goalkeeper it is a very composed finished. That is what Man City Foden can do if you switch off.

    Phil Foden

Super finish and this game has come alive!

Gabriel Jesus, popping up on the right, runs towards the edge of the box, weaving between a couple of Liverpool players before playing a great ball through for Phil Foden, who arrows a great drive into the bottom corner.

Liverpool had looked in control but now it is all square and anything could happen.

James Milner is having a great game now as he positions himself well to block a Gabriel Jesus shot.

I'd have taken Milner off at half time, Jurgen Klopp proven right to keep the faith.

And this was always the danger for Manchester City.

They had total control of that first half but a selection of presentable chances came and went without any being taken and you just can't do that against Liverpool.

Mo Salah's creation was brilliant. Sadio Mane's finish was clinical and now Anfield is alive with the noise of Liverpool supporters.

  20. YELLOW CARDpublished at 65 mins

    Liverpool 1-0 Man City

Kevin de Bruyne is fouled by Diogo Jota on the right side of the Liverpool box and Manchester City have a free kick as Raheem Sterling comes on for Jack Grealish.
