This actually turning into a great result for Utd, as Ole cannot survive this and we will get a manager that has some tactical nous. I for one am hoping it gets worse in the 2nd half as the longer he stays the worse it will get.

    HT: Man Utd 0-4 Liverpool

    Chris Sutton
Former Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

It isn't like Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hasn't been given all the weapons this season. They got Ronaldo, Varane and Sancho, they got everything together and they still can't compete with Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea.

It had to be this season for Ole and it just isn't happening for him.

  5. Solskjaer feeling the heatpublished at 17:29 British Summer Time 24 October 2021

    Man Utd 0-4 Liverpool

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Old Trafford

Manchester United manager OIe Gunnar Solskjaer cut an abject, helpless figure as he went down the tunnel at half-time with the jeers of Old Trafford ringing in his ears.

To put it bluntly, he looks out of his depth compared to to the animated urgings of Jurgen Klopp, demanding more from his players in every second.

That was as bad as it gets from Manchester United. Disorganised, shapeless and appearing to lack any sort of plan.

That must rank as one of Manchester United's worst halves in their history.

Liverpool have an identity but what are Manchester United? Where are they heading under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer?

I don't know how Manchester United play. They are so disjointed.

The thing that really annoys me is that when the ball goes dead you need a leader to say 'this is what we're doing and you stay here and you stay here'. Liverpool have been so dominant and dictating to the Man Utd players what they should be doing.

  9. United getting 'battered'published at 17:25 British Summer Time 24 October 2021

    Man Utd 0-4 Liverpool

"This is the first super team they are playing against and they are getting pulled apart," said former Manchester United defender Gary Neville on Sky Sports. "I said it before, half decent teams are scoring goals against them, proper teams will batter them."

There is a lot of noise about Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and we're only in mid-October. I'm not sure how many empty seats there will be at the start of the second half but the pressure on him is really wretched now.

We talk about a chorus of boos but that was a cacophony of boos. I don't think I've ever heard Old Trafford boo like that.

  15. HALF-TIMEpublished at 17:21 British Summer Time 24 October 2021

It is an incredible scoreline. Luke Shaw has been left two on one and he has to leave Mo Salah at the far post. It is so easy for Liverpool. It is just embarrassing.

Big fan of Ole, not only for the work he's done to bring in players and rebuilding, but for the brilliance he brought to the football pitch back in the day, but the proof is in the pudding here. We need a stronger, more experienced manager to manage at this level.

    Henry, Cambridge

If Ole left United, would he get a job at another big club? Obviously not. So he shouldn't be manager at United. Being a fans' favourite player from years gone by is not enough to keep him as manager.

GOAL - Man Utd 0-4 Liverpoolpublished at 45+4 mins

    Mohamed Salah

Absolute humiliation for Manchester United, Liverpool score FOUR in the first-half.

Jurgen Klopp's side are taking United apart on their own turf.

Diogo Jota with time to pick out Mohamed Salah who side-foots in at the near post.

    Too, too easy.

  20. YELLOW CARDpublished at 45+3 mins

United need half-time, they are boiling over.

Fred goes in high and late on Naby Keita, studs clipping the Guinean's head and the United man is booked.
