  1. 'A lot of refs would have shown red for that'published at 17:18 British Summer Time 24 October 2021

    Man Utd 0-3 Liverpool

    Dion Dublin
Former Manchester United striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Wow, wow, wow! That is total frustration. It is aggressive from Cristiano Ronaldo.

He does kick the ball, but the aggressive nature and having seen the replay then a yellow card is probably fair, but a lot of referees would have given a red for that.

Squads are very similar quality on paper. The difference is a manager who knows what he's doing.

  3. YELLOW CARDpublished at 45+2 mins

    Man Utd 0-3 Liverpool

Just a yellow for Cristiano Ronaldo.

The ball was tied up inside Curtis Jones on the ground, Ronaldo has one kick at it and another more forceful one.

    Probably the right decision. Just.

  4. CLOSE!published at 45+1 mins

    Man Utd 0-3 Liverpool

Cristiano Ronaldo sees a shot saved and then in his frustration kicks out at Curtis Jones who makes a sliding challenge.

    What colour will it be???

  5. 'Man Utd have done nothing'published at 17:15 British Summer Time 24 October 2021

    Man Utd 0-3 Liverpool

    Dion Dublin
Former Manchester United striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

The Manchester United players will be looking at each other at half-time going "what have you done?" and they'll be looking back like "well, what have you done?". Manchester United have done nothing.

Every time they get the ball they are looking up to say "what can I do with this?". They don't really know what to do with it.

  6. CLOSE!published at 45 mins

    Man Utd 0-3 Liverpool

A goal before half-time could, COULD, have given United a glimmer of hope.

Marcus Rashford dances through the Liverpool backline and pulls the ball back into the six yard box but Andrew Robertson clears ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Two minutes to half-time, Liverpool won't want this to end.

  8. Postpublished at 41 mins

    Man Utd 0-3 Liverpool

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, a face like thunder, remains in the dugout.

Sir Alex Ferguson is in animated conversation with the bloke sitting next to him.

  9. YELLOW CARDpublished at 40 mins

    Man Utd 0-3 Liverpool

Luke Shaw is up against Mohamed Salah and is now in the book for a tug on the Egyptian.

  10. 'Man Utd aren't even on the pitch'published at 17:10 British Summer Time 24 October 2021

    Man Utd 0-3 Liverpool

    Dion Dublin
Former Manchester United striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

That is an incredible passage of football. There were one-twos, little flicks.

The thing that I noticed there is that Mo Salah was being marked by Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw but when the ball goes out wide he moves and beats both of them to the ball. He deserves to score.

Liverpool have outstanding. Manchester United aren't even out on the pitch yet.

There's nothing United about this side. A manager out of his depth and a reliance on high-end talent to get them out of messes of their own making. Lots of star power but not a team.

    Jim, Birmingham.

To be fair, I can certainly see United getting a goal here and then who knows what'll happen. But regardless of the result there's just no argument to be made for keeping Ole - he's had more time and money that Moyes, Van Gaal and Mourinho ever got

Liverpool are all over Manchester United here. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer just stays in his seat.

  13. goal

GOAL - Man Utd 0-3 Liverpoolpublished at 38 mins

    Mohamed Salah

    We're getting into embarrassing territory.

Mohamed Salah sees his shot blocked and Manchester United defenders fail to react.

Salah is sharply into the six yard box and converts high into the net from Naby Keita's pullback.

Salah scores for the 10th straight game and becomes the first Liverpool player to net three games in a row at Old Trafford.

Ibrahima Konate has been solid at the back for Liverpool so far and strides forward. He almost picks out Mohamed Salah.

  15. United fans vent their frustrationpublished at 17:06 British Summer Time 24 October 2021

    Man Utd 0-2 Liverpool

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Old Trafford

Manchester United supporters howling in frustration as they hesitate playing the ball out at the back. They want more urgency from their team.

For someone who is watching his threatening to extend a two-goal lead, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp does not exactly cut a satisfied figure.

  16. CLOSE!published at 36 mins

    Man Utd 0-2 Liverpool

    Take your time!

It is a lovely outside-of-the-boot pass from Bruno Fernandes into the stride of Marcus Rashford in the box.

The England international decides to go at it first time but scuffs a volley straight at Alisson.

    Could have taken that down.

  18. 'Man Utd's defending rushed and last ditch'published at 17:04 British Summer Time 24 October 2021

    Man Utd 0-2 Liverpool

    Dion Dublin
Former Manchester United striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

There doesn't seem to be any relaxed defending from Manchester United. Everything is rushed and last ditch.

We've seen this defence play together many times but when you're playing in a game like this, with an atmosphere like this, you need players that can calm things down.

  19. CLOSE!published at 34 mins

    Man Utd 0-2 Liverpool

Cristiano Ronaldo's eyes light up at the back post when he sees Bruno Fernandes chip a cross towards his head but Andrew Robertson rises to flick away.

A vital interception from the Scotland skipper.
