    Hull City 0-2 Sheff Utd

Hull City having a go now.

Full-back Lewie Coyle gets a decent strike on a bouncing ball from the edge of the area but it's straight at Robin Olsen in the Blades goal.

The Roma loanee, who was at Everton last season, hasn't really had to make a real save of note today. Yet.

  2. YELLOW CARDpublished at 54 mins

    Hull City 0-2 Sheff Utd

Rhys Norrington-Davies is booked for clipping George Honeyman, with the Blades guilty of overplaying at the back.

George Moncur whips the free-kick in and it's headed out for a Tigers corner.

Ben Davies comfortably heads the set piece away.

    BOSH!

John Egan thumps in a header from a corner from the right.

The defender gets away from his marker with decent movement, and perhaps a block from team-mate Billy Sharp, and heads home from Republic of Ireland compatriot Conor Hourihane's inswinging set piece.

  5. YELLOW CARDpublished at 48 mins

    Hull City 0-1 Sheff Utd

Hull City midfielder George Honeyman did not take kindly to that foul from John Fleck and he slid in very late on Ben Osborn to go in the book.

An interesting first few minute for the sub.

Billy Sharp and Morgan Gibbs-WhiteImage source, Rex Features

The Blades lead at the break but really should be out of sight.

Billy Sharp headed them into the lead from a beaut of a cross from Morgan Gibbs-White but the veteran, making his 300th appearance for his club today, failed to score from the penalty spot after he had been felled in the area by Jacob Greaves.

The visitors look dangerous whenever they get in the opposition half, while Hull, goalless since the opening day, do not.

  11. MISSED PENALTY - Billy Sharp (Sheff Utd)published at 13:18 British Summer Time 18 September 2021

    Hull City 0-1 Sheff Utd

    SAVED!!!

Billy Sharp's effort is in the corner but Matt Ingram guesses right and turns it around the post.

Could that be the turning point in this game?

Sharp might have been offside in the build-up to the penalty so perhaps the right conclusion.

  12. PENALTY TO SHEFF UTDpublished at 42 mins

    Hull City 0-1 Sheff Utd

Big chance for the visitors to double their lead before the break.

Billy Sharp is in on goal and Jacob Greaves goes through the back of him trying to stop him getting his shot off.

  13. Postpublished at 39 mins

    Hull City 0-1 Sheff Utd

Hull City win a corner down their left and Manchester United loanee Di'Shon Bernard meets it at the back post but his header is off target.

A good delivery but Bernard might well have been better trying to head it back across goal for a team-mate.

  14. Postpublished at 36 mins

    Hull City 0-1 Sheff Utd

Some more neat passing from Sheffield United ends with Rhian Brewster having a dip from just outside the area.

It's easy enough for Matt Ingram in the home goal but the Tigers gave him way too much time to get his shot off there.

  15. Postpublished at 34 mins

    Hull City 0-1 Sheff Utd

Hull captain Richie Smallwood has a sighter from all of 30 yards.

His low effort is initially spilled by Robin Olsen in the Blades goal but he quickly gets up to collect it.

  16. Postpublished at 31 mins

    Hull City 0-1 Sheff Utd

Good low save from home goalkeeper Matt Ingram to deny Morgan Gibbs-White.

The Blades cut through the home team far too easily there though.

  17. Postpublished at 26 mins

    Hull City 0-1 Sheff Utd

That's much better from the hosts.

Mallik Wilks plays Josh Magennis in down their right but his cutback for Keane-Lewis-Potter is just behind the forward.

  18. Postpublished at 21 mins

    Hull City 0-1 Sheff Utd

Hull City need to just stay in this now.

The Tigers haven't scored since the opening day and have scarcely threatened in this match so far.

Sheffield United had just found their feet when they took the lead and their recent games suggest they're more than capable of building on this lead.

    Who. Else?

On his 300th appearance for Sheffield United Billy Sharp heads his team into the lead.

The skipper gets up terrifically well to head home from Morgan Gibbs-White's delicious cross from the right.

  20. Postpublished at 13 mins

    Hull City 0-0 Sheff Utd

One thing's for sure, this Sheffield United team are very comfortable passing the ball around.

A lengthy spell of possession ends with Morgan Gibbs-White slipping Rhian Brewster in but Jacob Greaves tracks him all the way and stops him getting a clean shot away.
