Knowing Emma Hayes she will try to dominate on all four fronts. They will want to rectify defeat in the Champions League final next season. But all seasons are tough. Chelsea have depth in every position but it is about keeping everyone fit.

You never know what is going to happen in a season. Absolutely they are the team to beat and every other side need to be at their best. It is challenge for the rest.

Chelsea didn’t wipe the floor with everyone last season. Yes they dominated. But I think the biggest change is they were able to do that on all fronts. They have never been in that position before. I still think they are the best team in the country. Whether Emma Hayes and the team will put priority on the Champions League over the league I doubt very much. They will feel the squad she has, with the signings she has made, will make them more capable of fighting on all four fronts.

Arsenal have not done so well these last few seasons. But before the end of last season they really improved and they have got a new manager. The strike force is non-stop. They are solid and organised. The game against Chelsea on Sunday will be a great game. It is massive.

Two more WSL games tomorrow - including the start of Chelsea's title defence away to Arsenal.

Birmingham are on the ropes.

Spurs are coming at them from all directions. That goal has really lifted the hosts. It's half-time in a couple of minutes but they could do with playing on.

You have to give Birmingham credit. They're yet to have an attempt but they are putting on a stubborn defensive show. Just over five minutes until half-time. Spurs need to up their game.

Screams from the crowd as Ria Percival goes down in the box after a challenge from a Blues defender. The hosts want a penalty but the referee is telling Percival to get up.

I'll put this kindly. This isn't a classic. Half an hour on the clock. Spurs have had a couple of chances from distance and had loads of possession - but they have yet to make the breakthrough.

They scored just 18 goals in 22 league games last season. Surely not another blank on the opening weekend of the season?

There was an improvementn in the second half but was that Everton being better or Man City taking their foot off. There is certainly work to do for Everton.

There is a lot of interest in whether Everton can challenge the top three this season but they didn't have enough for Man City today.

It's early days obviously but I don't think many would have predicted a 4-0 loss at Goodison.

Willie Kirk has been very subdued in the second half.

Birmingham struggled last season and new boss Scott Booth is hoping for an improved campaign after they finished 11th in the 12-team WSL.

The Blues have just won a free-kick in a decent position but it's overcooked.

They won't get a lot of chances. More composure is needed.

An emphatic start to the season from Man City against a side with lofty aspirations of their own. Marker laid.

For Everton, they need to bounce back quickly from this if they are to achieve their aims this season.

Hayley Raso is getting some thorough treatment by the medical team on the pitch. She looks OK after getting a clatter from behind, but having broken her back in the past, they need to be absolutely sure.

Kit Graham. Remember the name. The former Charlton player is a box of tricks and she's just launched an ambitious attempt from about 25 yards which only just missed the target.
