Manchester City forward Phil Foden, speaking to Sky Spots: "We had the game of our lives today. Everything went right, a lot of possession and chances. We dominated from start to finish.

"(What went right?) Possession, picking the right times and when to hurt them. Really pleased.

"We knew we could exploit the space in behind and we picked the right times to do it. My team-mates found me a few times in behind and on another day I could have finished the chances.

"We got in at half time and said we had to keep up the possession game and I thought we did that really well.

"Massive confidence going into the international break - important to get the win before that. Delighted.

"It was very important to get back to winning ways."

Sam: I thought Ronaldo is a big game player. Come on, he’s weakened the team in my opinion. No press from the forwards.

Matt: This loss is in ways even more worrying than the Liverpool game. At least LIV looked nearly unplayable in that form. City did not look THAT good and we still could not generate any attacking threats or look like we had a chance to compete.

We said Man United needed a quick start and not concede early. After seven minutes they were 1-0 down. It could have been prevented so easily.

Then we saw a 10-minute period after the second goal where City absolutely turned up the charm and had five chances, every one of them was stopped by David de Gea. They can't rely so heavily on their keeper.

This isn't the same as the game against Liverpool, I don't think we'll ever see United get hammered again like that.

But something's missing. There's some drive not there that should be here, it's a Manchester derby, everybody should be up for it.

The disappointment is that the players don't have the ability to adjust to what they're up against.
