I'm not happy with that challenge from Rodri on Luke Shaw and I'm not happy with Michael Oliver for not checking that on VAR, I'm not happy with VAR. It was dangerous and reckless.

By the way, Luke Shaw's injury came after a challenge by Rodri. Peter Schmeichel thinks VAR should have got involved.

A volley by Kevin de Bruyne about 10 yards out. He screws it horribly wide. Not pretty.

If Manchester City had a striker I feel like this score line would be a lot more one sided. United have been second best across the park today. As it is though, there will be far too many people who think this performance is somehow an improvement on the Liverpool game.

City's game management is exceptional. Since going 2-0 ahead, they have rarely looked in danger and are suffocating United.

Luke Shaw is down again. I don't think he's going to finish this.

  10. 'Greenwood looks like he's sulking'published at 14:00 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2021

    Man Utd 0-2 Man City

    Peter Schmeichel
Former Manchester United goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

It's not good enough really from Mason Greenwood. He looks like he's got a bit of a sulk on for not playing in the number nine role, but that's not how football works.

If the manager puts you on the right, you play on the right and you give it your best.

United are attempting to increase the tempo, but have they left it too late? It's been a low-key second half by Manchester derby standards.

Burnley are unsurprisingly unchanged from their 3-1 win over Brentford, which was their first league victory of the season.

Maxwel Cornet has the chance to keep up his recent scoring form.

Burnley: Pope, Tarkowski, Mee, Taylor, Lowton, Brownhill, Westwood, McNeil, Gudmundsson, Cornet, Wood. Subs: Hennessey, Cork, Barnes, Roberts, Rodriguez, Collins, Pieters, Vydra, Long.

  13. 'No plan for Van de Beek'published at 13:58 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2021

    Man Utd 0-2 Man City

    Andy Reid
Ex-Republic of Ireland midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

The first thing you do when you bring in a player of Donny van de Beek's calibre is you make a plan. You might not hit the ground running, but you build.

United don't have a plan for Van de Beek, so who signed him? Why did they want him in the first place?

There's some sort of disconnect in the club, who's making the signings? You're just wasting £40m.

  16. Postpublished at 64 mins

There's not an awful lot going on regarding action on the pitch. Off it, Marcus Rashford is getting to come on. City continue to pass it around with ease.

  17. Ederson 'one of the world's best keepers'published at 13:53 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2021

    Man Utd 0-2 Man City

    Peter Schmeichel
Former Manchester United goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

For a goalkeeper, it's not really about just making great saves.

We're watching one of the best goalkeepers in the world playing for Man City now. The City defenders know that if they pass him the ball under pressure from the opposition he will very, very calmly pass it out.

That speaks volumes. It's not just about these great saves.

I'd say that, on paper at least, the two squads are of similar quality. It's the quality of the coaching that's the issue and, if Man Utd are underdogs, it's only because of that.

United were trailing 5-0 to Liverpool at this stage so there's been an improvement of sorts. City are hunting another goal. Phil Foden tries to pick out Ilkay Gundogan but Victor Lindelof puts it behind for a corner.

Mason Greenwood fires wide from outside the box. That's United's first attempt in nearly 35 minutes. Pretty dismal.
