Asked if the Manchester derby is Manchester City's biggest game, manager Pep Guardiola responded: "I don’t think so."
"I don't feel it. When I wake up in the morning and come here, I'm in this bubble 10, 12, 14 hours," he added. "I'm not in the pubs to drink a beer, so I don't know the atmosphere.
"I have to be cold in my mind and cold in my head.
He added: "But maybe for some people, of course, it’s special - for the city, for many issues, but at the end it’s the same result, not like a semi-final or final.”

Manchester United
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, speaking to Sky Sports: “I thought he [Victor Lindelof] would be ready but we weren’t sure. Edinson [Cavani] didn’t make it and Marcus [Rashford] was cleared this morning and is available to part join us."
On Mason Greenwood: “We all know what he can do. He can score goals and get on balls for us. It is a good chance for him. He is looking forward to doing his job."
On local rivalries: “It’s a local derby, we know what it means for everyone, we know what it means in the table and know what it means if they get the three points and we are too far behind to be happy.
“You have to use it [the Liverpool defeat] as motivation. We can’t make those mistakes again. I liked the attitude and focus this morning. We all know we are in for a difficult game."

Cristiano Ronaldo plays in the derby for the first time since 2009.
Since then Vincent Kompany, Yaya Toure and Sergio Aguero have joined and left Manchester City.
How quickly football moves.

If United come at City that might play into City's hands.
I think United will want to sit back, but will their own fans allow it?

Everyone can see that Harry Maguire needs a really, really good game. He's had a tough time. He looks tired.
He needs to get some new energy into his system, maybe he needs a bit of a break.

I'm surprised Jack Grealish isn't in that City team, but they've got such a pool of talent that they can afford to leave him and others on the bench and still do what they do.
I think this is going to be a fantastic game.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer came into Manchester United at a very difficult time for the club in terms of the atmosphere and he has calmed everything down. He has taken the post-Mourinho edge out of it and that was really important.
But for all his wonderful qualities as a man and a galvaniser of staff and fans, Solskjaer is not on the same tactical level of a Pep Guardiola, Thomas Tuchel, Jurgen Klopp or Antonio Conte.
So there will always be that debate and he will always be under scrutiny. I admire his dignity and has shown this resilience under incredible scrutiny.

Dennis Ethan: Grealish transfer to City was just a by the way. I really don't think they needed him there.

You think everything is leaning towards Manchester City, but it is a derby game with so much quality on the field.
The biggest thing Manchester United have right now is Cristiano Ronaldo. He looks like he is going to score in every game between now and the end of time.

Is it really snood weather yet?
Jack Grealish seems to thinks so. He's also wearing gloves during the warm up.
Mind you, the £100m man is going to have to keep warm sat on the bench.

Richard: Maguire playing and Varane/Cavani missing. We've a rough 90 minutes ahead, I fear.

After United's sorry showing against Liverpool a fortnight ago, there was talk of just how many City would put past them in the next game at Old Trafford.
Then City went out of the League Cup they have dominated in recent years; then they lost at home to Crystal Palace; then United won at an admittedly poor Tottenham; then Cristiano Ronaldo rescued them twice (again) away to Atalanta; then City woke up to cruise past Bruges.
Go on, predict this with any real, crystal-clear confidence. I dare you!

Noodles: Cannot get my head around Ole still playing McFred. They're the main reason behind him nearly losing his job and yet he is playing them in arguably the second-most important game of the season. Is it stubbornness? Naivety? Ignorance? All of the above?

Steve C: This is the United line up and shape most people would have picked. If it goes badly today it’s down to the players not the manager.
