Watford were level, but not for long

Both managers will be unhappy with their side’s defending for the goals they have conceded.

Watford’s William Ekong misjudged a long ball forward and that let in James Maddison for Leicester’s opener, but the Foxes handed Watford an equaliser.

It was a rash challenge from Wilfred Ndidi, wiping out the standing leg of Emmanuel Dennis, when team-mates Jonny Evans and Caglar Söyüncü had the situation under control.

But take nothing away from Joshua King’s penalty, fired into the top corner past Kasper Schmeichel.

However, Ranieri would again be unhappy with Leicester’s second with Ekong slow to react to Maddison’s through ball and that enabled Jamie Vardy to lift Leicester ahead.

Vardy’s goals took Leicester to the title under Ranieri and the ex-England man gets a goal against his former boss. Thrilling match for the neutral, a nightmare for defensive coaches.

    Leicester 2-1 Watford

James Maddison is having a stormer here.

He is found by Ademola Lookman down the right, cuts inside and fires a shot just past the far post.

  3. 'What City do best'published at 14:38 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2021

    Man City 1-0 West Ham

    Stephen Warnock
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

It's what City do best. They find the weakness, the one v one situation.

Big switch out the right-hand side where Riyad Mahrez finds himself in a one v one situation, he does what he usually does, jinks back inside on that left foot, fizzes it hard and low across the box and its a tap in for Ilkay Gundogan.

It looks so, so easy when City put moves like that together.

  4. CLOSE!published at 14:38 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2021

    Man City 1-0 West Ham

    Big block by Ben Johnson!

Riyad Mahrez gets away down the right and smashes a shot that beats Lukasz Fabianski but Johnson clears off the line.

    So close to 2-0.

  5. Postpublished at 14:37 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2021

    Brentford 1-0 Everton

It's reasonably comfortable for the Bees here. Everton not offering nearly enough yet to challenge the scoreline.

  6. Postpublished at 14:37 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2021

    Man City 1-0 West Ham

The ball is leaving a trail in the snow as it is passed about on the pitch.

We might be needing to call upon the winter ball before long.

  7. Postpublished at 14:37 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2021

    Leicester 2-1 Watford

I'll be amazed if there aren't more goals here. Both sides look ropey at the back. Joshua King the latest to have a pop with an angled drive he sends well wide.

  8. 'Struggling to see through snow'published at 14:35 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2021

    Man City 1-0 West Ham

    Stephen Warnock
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

The snow is absolutely belting now, it's gotten thicker, we're struggling to see the other side of the pitch. Interesting.

    Ilkay Gundogan (34 mins)

    Breakthrough!

One lapse of concentration in the West Ham defence and they are punished as Riyad Mahrez's low cross is allowed to run through to Ilkay Gundogan, who taps in at the far post.

    Jamie Vardy

    Magnificent finish!

Jamie Vardy loves a goal against Watford. This is a peach of one too. James Maddison flicks a ball over the defence and the striker is on it in a flash before producing a lovely dinked finish over the charging Daniel Bachmann and into the net.

  11. Guardiola's irritationpublished at 14:33 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2021

    Man City 0-0 West Ham

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport at the Etihad Stadium

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is getting irritated with Ruben Dias and Aymeric Laporte.

I don't think he feels they are moving the ball fast enough and in the right direction,

There was a familiar slump of the shoulders just now, followed by a call to Dias imploring him to do what Guardiola is demanding.

    Leicester 1-1 Watford

Watford continue their assault. Juan Hernandez drives in to head an effort that deflects wide.

It takes some panicked Leicester defending to ensure the corner doesn't cause too much damage.

Murmurs of concern around the King Power.

That equaliser came just seconds after Juan Hernandez had struck the inside of the post via a shot that deflected off Caglar Soyuncu.

The visitors deserve parity on the balance of play.

  15. YELLOW CARDpublished at 14:30 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2021

    Man City 0-0 West Ham

Good effort from Raheem Sterling as he sends a dipping long-ranger just wide.

Moments later, Aymeric Laporte is booked as he brings down Michail Antonio right on the edge of the area.

Aaron Cresswell's free kick is deflected into the sidenetting.

  17. 'Antonio is a handful'published at 14:29 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2021

    Man City 0-0 West Ham

    Stephen Warnock
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

One thing you have to consider with managing Michail Antonio now for David Moyes is that he's playing for Jamaica, he's now travelling far away.

It was interesting to see how West Ham looked after him on the last international break, they got him home on a private jet to make sure he was comfortable, he got home quickly, they sent a medic out there to look after him.

He's someone that plays at peak condition and he is a handful.

  18. Postpublished at 14:29 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2021

    Man City 0-0 West Ham

    Pensive.

That's the look Pep Guardiola has as he watches intently the action on the pitch, the falling snow bouncing off his head.

West Ham are giving the Manchester City boss plenty of food for thought.

  19. PENALTYpublished at 14:28 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2021

    Leicester 1-0 Watford

Watford have responded really well to going behind and they have a golden chance to draw level.

Emmanuel Dennis is tripped by a clumsy tackle from Wilfred Ndidi in the box. No need for VAR there.

  20. Postpublished at 14:27 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2021

    Brentford 1-0 Everton

Absolutely vital tackle from Abdoulaye Doucoure.

Ivan Toney sends Vitaly Janelt in on goal, but before he can shoot the Everton midfielder steps in to dispossess him.
