Chelsea are having some defending to do as Manchester United are now the side doing the attacking. Bruno Fernandes' low cross is cut out by Thiago Silva but Manchester United are keeping up the pressure on Chelsea players in possession.

  2. YELLOW CARDpublished at 53 mins

    Chelsea 0-1 Man Utd

  3. 'Confidence and composure from Sancho'published at 17:39 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2021

    Chelsea 0-1 Man Utd

    Karen Carney
Former Chelsea midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

Wow. I said set up right when you're in possession - Chelsea did anything but and they've been absolutely punished on the counter by Manchester United.

Bruno Fernandes just hooks it clear, Jorginho is the only man left in his own half and his touch is shocking, Jadon Sancho picks it up and he's got all the time in the world.

He's got the confidence, composure - he just passes it into the bottom corner.

GOAL - Chelsea 0-1 Man Utdpublished at 50 mins

    Jadon Sancho

    Well then!

The ball is hammered away from that free kick and Jorginho, the only Chelsea player back, fluffs his clearance and Jadon Sancho races through. He keeps his composure and finishes neatly for his first Premier League goal.

Manchester United have offered almost no attacking threat but lead!

Reece James bends the free kick in but Alex Telles heads away.

  6. Postpublished at 49 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 Man Utd

Darren Fletcher, on the Manchester United bench, has an ear piece in. Presumably not catching up on podcasts?

Chelsea have picked right up from where they left off and win a free kick right on the edge of the area as Marcus Rashford fouls Trevoh Chalobah.

Rashford is booked and Chelsea have a decent opportunity here.

Culer: For all the United fans that are complaining, this is part of the game plan, to stay in the game. There will be a change of emphasis when the time is right and we will win this game.

Keith: Its not rocket science, this is the same Utd team, with the same management, so we get the same! Frustrate as long as possible, and get a chance to score.

  9. Pep makes ground staff men of the matchpublished at 17:30 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2021

    Man City 2-1 West Ham

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport at the Etihad Stadium

It wasn't the greatest performance by Manchester City today.

There were some decent performances though - but Pep Guardiola knows who his best performers were.

"I think the groundkeepers, the guys who took care of the pitch, were man-of-the-match.

"They did an incredible job to make sure we played the game today."

Utds best player was the crossbar closely followed by De Gea!

    Baz

Wow, you can tell how well drilled Chelsea are compared to Utd. How when a Chelsea player has the ball that there is usually always two making great movement to make themselves available for the pass. Utd chasing shadows all half so far.

Just the two touches by Manchester United players inside the Chelsea area, one of those was Fred falling over.

More of the same in the second half or will the visitors become more adventurous?

  13. 'Carrick will be buzzing'published at 17:22 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2021

    HT: Chelsea 0-0 Man Utd

    Karen Carney
Former Chelsea midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

Man United can be more direct, they can play the straight passes up to the highest point a little but quicker, they're coming to feet too much, that's where they get bunched up by Chelsea.

But Michael Carrick will be buzzing going in, it's 0-0, bench to come on, compact, Chelsea will be disappointed.

    Goalless and pretty uneventful.

    Chelsea 0-0 Man Utd

    Karen Carney
Former Chelsea midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

You know what this game's crying out for? Jesse Lingard. They need a ball-carrier so much.

They're so deep, they need someone to get them up the pitch.

This would be poor if it was Newcastle or Norwich, but this is Man Utd! Just incredibly bad.

    Ken, Newcastle.

How did Utd come to this? Easy. They put sentiment and nostalgia at the front of their thinking. Ancelotti was available but...

    Chelsea 0-0 Man Utd

Manchester United almost catch out Chelsea as a ball over the defence by Fred finds Jadon Sancho but his first touch takes it away from him and to Edouard Mendy in the Chelsea goal.

A bit more composure from Sancho and that could have been something for the visitors there. To Sancho's credit, he had made a really good run to get to the ball first.

  19. Postpublished at 39 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 Man Utd

Superb play by Trevoh Chalobah to win the ball on the right side of the box and Hakim Ziyech then takes it into the area before sending it across the face of goal. Manchester United clear but only to Reece James, who fires just wide of goal.

  20. Postpublished at 37 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 Man Utd

Half time approaching and Manchester United will be happy with this. Not so sure their travelling fans will be as there's been very little to get excited about from the away side so far.
