  1. 'Hudson-Odoi has to put that away'published at 17:07 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2021

    Chelsea 0-0 Man Utd

    Karen Carney
Former Chelsea midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

He has to put that away, Callum Hudson-Odoi. He's centre of the goal, there's a slight deflection that takes the sting off the shot, but he has to have that confidence.

He's got all the ability in the world, I just want to see a more ruthless edge to him.

Oooh, mistake by Bruno Fernandes as he passes straight to Callum Hudson-Odoi just outside the Manchester United box. Hudson-Odoi opens up a bit of space for himself and shoots but David de Gea is there to spare Fernandes' blushes.

  3. 'Brilliant save'published at 17:04 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2021

    Chelsea 0-0 Man Utd

    Karen Carney
Former Chelsea midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

Everyone's backed off because they're trying to protect the space, I think David de Gea gets a hand to this - wow.

It was kicked with such venom and fierce pace from Antonio Rudiger, absolutely smashed it with his right foot from 35 yards out. De Gea gets a fingertip to it and touched it onto the crossbar - brilliant save.

You just sense that Chelsea are starting to ramp things up a notch as Callum Hudson-Odoi dangerous cross is put behind for a corner. It is cleared but the ball falls straight to a Blue shirt and Chelsea attack again.

Manchester United just can't get anywhere near halfway at the moment.

As a Man U fan I'm not interested at the moment if we're not attacking enough or defending too much. Just that the team run close down & try to act like a team. The other things will come.

But that is a decent chance!

Antonio Rudiger takes matters into his own hands as he hammers a fierce effort from outside the box and it cracks against the crossbar.

    Superb strike!

How did United come to this. Surely this is not all Ole's fault. Sitting so deep and hardly a touch of the ball in the first quarter of the game. Looks like they are scared to play.

Last on Match of the Day? It's not been a classic so far. Chelsea are chipping away and have had all of the possession but there's not been much in the way of decent chances really.

  9. Chelsea in commandpublished at 16:57 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2021

    Chelsea 0-0 Man Utd

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Stamford Bridge

Manchester United are surviving but it is all Chelsea. Manchester United are offering nothing going forward, with Bruno Fernandes really struggling - which, given my track record, means he will shortly put Manchester United in front.

Stavros: Carrick has dropped Ronaldo and Van de Beek, arguably his best 2 players on Tuesday night.

Dawsey: Utd have three defensive midfielders yet still can’t boss the centre.

  11. Postpublished at 25 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 Man Utd

Chelsea come forward again - they are being patient rather than relentless in their attacks - and Callum Hudson-Odoi plays a good ball into the box for Timo Werner but he can't quite connect properly and flicks his header wide.

  12. 'There's a disconnect up front for United'published at 16:54 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2021

    Chelsea 0-0 Man Utd

    Karen Carney
Former Chelsea midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

United are actually pressing when they get the opportunity, but they just haven't gotten into good areas enough because Chelsea have dominated possession as you'd expect.

There's a disconnect up front for United, though. They're on different pages, different wavelengths.

  13. Postpublished at 22 mins

Reece James is away down the right and he sends a deep cross into the box, it skims the head of Aaron Wan-Bissaka but that's enough to make it awkward for Marcos Alonso behind him and the ball squirms off the Chelsea full-back's boot and behind.

    A Manchester United attack!

Bruno Fernandes takes the ball forward, passes to Jadon Sancho before getting the ball back but then sweeps a low effort well wide.

Seth: Wan-Bissaka keeps getting worse! He will have to up his game, if not, he won't survive with that kind of defending under Ralf Rangnick!

Jonny: Imagine paying 50 million pounds for Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Not Premier League quality.

  18. Ronaldo one short of 800 career goalspublished at 16:48 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2021

    Chelsea 0-0 Man Utd

    Alistair Bruce-Ball
Commentator on BBC Radio 5 Live

Cristiano Ronaldo is on 799 goals for club and country in senior football. He's one short of an incredible landmark there.

Equally, he's never scored at Stamford Bridge. He's scored once against Chelsea in a Champions League final in 2008, he missed his penalty in the shootout but United won that night. So that's another thing he'd like to try and do.

He will be desperate to get out there and get involved.

Fifteen minutes in and it has been all Chelsea. They've had a couple of chances but David de Gea has stood up to them both well.

Manchester United have offered no attacking threat so far. Cristiano Ronaldo has probably been busier on the bench than if he was starting.
