  1. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 18 mins

    France 1-0 Belgium

France did make the change up front, btw.

Ouleymata Sarr replacing the stricken Marie-Antoinette Katoto.

  2. CLOSE!published at 17 mins

    France 1-0 Belgium

From the resulting corner, it's Wendy Renard who gets her head on the ball but Laura De Neve makes a block on the goalbound effort.

    Belgium are clinging on.

  3. GREAT SAVE!published at 16 mins

    France 1-0 Belgium

The two players from the opening goal almost combine again!

Sakina Karchaoui is getting the freedom of Rotherham down that left flank, she says thank you very much, putting the ball on a plate for Kadidiatou Diani but Belgium goalkeeper Nicky Evrard spreads herself to make a stunning save, pushing the ball against the post.

With the greatest respect to Belgium, I do have some concerns about this France defence when they come up against a stronger side.

Their attacking strength is not in question but both Italy and now Belgium have found space to exploit when they do attack.

Now this is a huge concern for France as striker Marie-Antoinette Katoto hobbles off with what looks like a knee injury.

It looks like her game is done, what a blow that would be.

They like a fall-out historically, France. In this tournament the only team that will beat France is France. There's a small amount of time you're playing. The rest of the time you're together. You have to make sure it's not a negative enviroment.

They got worse in 2019 after starting like a house on fire.

France central midfielder Charlotte Bilbault takes a knock but looks OK to carry on after some treatment.

Nearly a howler at the back from France goalkeeper Pauline Peyraud-Magnin, who juggles Janice Cayman's cross inside her six yard box but can gather at the second attempt.

  9. CLOSE!published at 10 mins

    France 1-0 Belgium

What a cracker this would have been.

We saw Danielle van de Donk smash one in for the Netherlands yesterday and Delphine Cascarino almost does the same, but this one drifts just wide of the far post.

  10. Postpublished at 9 mins

    France 1-0 Belgium

Belgium see the France half for the first time but the excellent Sakina Karchaoui shepherds the ball out of play and they can launch another attack.

Did Belgium not watch a replay of France's game with Italy? I'm stunned that they've left so much space on both flanks and no surprise that France take an early lead from a good attack out wide.

Whether scoring or providing Kadidiatou Diani was bound to be involved.

    Here we go again?

There was a VAR check to see whether Sakina Karchaoui has strayed off but she timed her run to perfection.

Belgium make it far too easy for France, who have such good players out wide and good players to attack it. The goal has been coming from minute one. Belgium have to get out quickly. Nobody is tracking back. It's an easy cross and a simple goal, well finished. It's pretty ominous for Belgium.

    Kadidiatou Diani

    Yep, it was coming.

Gary Rose pointed it out at the start and Kadidiatou Diani delivers, heading in unchallenged at the far post from Sakina Karchaoui's deep cross.

This is going to be a case of how many France can score tonight.

    France come again.

A beauty of a delivery from left-back Sakina Karchaoui but Marie-Antoinette Katoto just cannot rise high enough to reach it.

They have to get closer to Wendie Renard. You can't let her have a free header like that. She won't need many chances before she finds the back of the net.

  17. CLOSE!published at 2 mins

    France 0-0 Belgium

And France are already proving to be a real threat in the final third.

Clara Mateo drifts in a corner which the towering Wendy Renard meets, but sends her header wide from 12 yards out.

Plenty of power but lacking in precision.

Keep an eye on Kadidiatou Diani on France's right wing. She ripped Italy apart on Sunday and has already got into space to deliver a cross in the opening few minutes of this game.

France immediately on the front foot.

Kadidiatou Diani jinks left and right and fizzes a dangerous ball in but Grace Geyoro cannot control and is unable to add to her hat-trick from the first game...yet.

  20. KICK-OFFpublished at 20:00 British Summer Time 14 July 2022

France will be looking for another storming victory, this time on Bastille Day.

Away we go in south Yorkshire.
