Coming into the tournament, defensively is maybe where we thought Germany are vulnerable, maybe in the holding midfield role and England - if they were playing them - could get in and around those positions. The midfield three provide such balance. Going forward they are frightening. They don't have many weaknesses.

This is a side that has gone through a transitional period but they are out and through that.

The attendance has been announced as 20,721 - the 13th highest in the competition's history and the best from the three games so far to be staged at Milton Keynes.

It shows how far the women's game has come as when these two countries met in the 2005 semi-final, only 2,785 were in attendance for the match held at Preston's Deepdale stadium.

This tournament has already broken overall attendance records and it continues to go from strength to strength with the final at an already sold-out Wembley Stadium.

Will Germany be there? On this evidence and what we've seen from them in this group phase, you definitely wouldn't bet against them.

It's just that at the moment it's too easy to null Spain. When you're organised, well-drilled and have a good shape about you as a team they you can really limit their chances on goal.

That's what Pernille Harder gives you. She looks exhausted having ran herself ragged in the first half but she held off four players and hit a very good long-range effort then. Everyone in the stadium held their breath. Now she's got support up top from Nadia Nadim so she is even more of a threat. Denmark just have to get the ball off Spain and find her! They have nothing to lose...

Around 15 minutes of normal time left. There's been a flurry of changes. Jule Brand and Tabea Wassmuth are on for Germany while Laura Freigang is getting ready to come on.

Finland have sent on Olga Ahtinen, Essi Sainio and Ria Oling.

Denmark make a couple of changes as they now look to push on against a tiring Spain side.

Nadia Nadim and Stine Larsen are on for Rikke Madsen and Janni Thomsen. Attacking players on and a change in formation as they match Spain. Denmark are going for it.

If Spain are going to get a goal then substitute Olga Carmona is looking the most likely to get it.

Finland are tiring mentally and physically now. That is what happens when you don't have the ball and are chasing shadows all game.

A shout out for Klara Buhl. The Bayern Munich forward has been here, there and everywhere. She has created five of Germany's 27 attempts.

Another ball from midfield is sent into the box but this one is behind Marta Cardona.
