It's quite interesting with France because in many tournaments, they've unachieved because they've got such talented players and can't seem to progress into the latter stages.

They hope that this will be their year because there isn't much disharmony in the team.

Not much involvement for Vivianne Miedema yet. Jury still out on just how fit she is for this after her bout of covid.

A fast start from France, popping the ball around nicely and making it difficult for the Netherlands to get a hold of - a few anxious sighs from the crowd of Dutch shirts down in front of us, although that promising passage of play may have settled their nerves somewhat.

Oh, this is much better from the Dutch.

They break down the left and swing over a cross into the danger zone. Sakina Karchaoui is first to it, with a header back towards her own keeper that needs a diving save to stop.

Finally, the Netherlands have some respite and are allowed to play the ball around at the back. The forward pass, when it comes, is aimless, though.

The French press has been exceptional and this Dutch back four can’t seem to clear the pressure.

When they do, the ball just goes straight back to a blue shirt.

We're into the fourth minute and the Dutch haven't had a controlled touch yet. It's all very panicked. That is down to how intense and effective France have been.

France look like they mean business.

They're pinning the holders back and forcing them into sloppy clearances.

The last of the four Euro 2022 quarter-finals is the most closely matched of the week.

France were ranked third in the last Fifa ranking and the Netherlands were fourth. France are marginal favourites according to Gracenote, who estimate a 54% chance of a semi-final place for the French.

France are given 16% chance to win Euro 2022 by Gracenote and the Netherlands have 12% chance. Both of these figures are close to their pre-tournament estimates.
