Amazingly, that is Bruno Fernandes' first Manchester United goal since 11 September, when Cristiano Ronaldo returned to Old Trafford in a 4-1 win over Newcastle.

A lot has happened since then.

    Man Utd 1-1 Arsenal

Cristiano Ronaldo flicks the ball up on the edge of the box and tries a bicycle kick which flies miles wide. That would have been a goal of the season contender.

It has Ally McCoist chuckling on the TV commentary. Although most things do.

It is a cool finish. Opens his foot and strokes it into the far corner. It is the run from Fred. That extra body, committing to the attack and go beyond the back line. One more pass in there. Sancho has runners outside and inside him. Back on level terms.

Martin Odegaard whips in a free-kick and Gabriel Martinelli's glancing header goes wide. But did Harry Maguire foul Takehiro Tomiyasu? We'll never know because play has recontinued.

  9. YELLOW CARDpublished at 21:00 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2021

GOAL - Man Utd 1-1 Arsenalpublished at 20:59 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2021

    Bruno Fernandes (44 mins)

United are level. Jadon Sancho runs down the left and picks out Fred in the box. He takes one touch and lays it into the path of Bruno Fernandes, who sweeps home first time from 10 yards.

It's low and Aaron Ramsdale gets a hand to it but he can't keep it out.

    Ian Dennis

We have a Premier League ruling on the goal. So, the referee blew the whistle after the ball had crossed the line. VAR was able to decide whether there was a foul on De Gea. The contact was clearly by his own player so it was able to rule that it was a goal.

Martin Odegaard steps over the free-kick and Thomas Partey shoots but it hits the head of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang next to the wall and flies out for a goal-kick.

Still 20 minutes plus stoppages but Spurs are good value for their lead. It'll be seven points out of nine under Antonio Conte if they complete the job.

    Man Utd 0-1 Arsenal

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport at Old Trafford

The controversy over Arsenal's goal will overshadow the fact that the visitors are the better team and the greater goal threat.

Manchester United have looked ponderous in attacking positions and Cristiano Ronaldo has had one of those halves he would probably prefer to forget.

As it stands, United are going to be eight points off the top four.

It is just a tap in. It is a beautiful ball by Sergio Reguilon.

GOAL - Tottenham 2-0 Brentfordpublished at 20:52 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2021

    Son Heung-min

    That's counter-attacking at its finest.

A Brentford move breaks down inside the Spurs half and the hosts pile forward at pace.

Harry Kane is involved before Sergio Reguilon plays a super pass to the feet of Son Heung-min to tap home.

Son deserves that. He's been excellent.

Harry Maguire playing an interesting role there. He's in midfield as Arsenal play their way forward, wins the ball, plays a one-two and shoots from outside the box but it's saved.
