I'm not surprised at all that the goal was given. It was only his own players near him.

I don't see how it couldn't be given a goal! I don't know what all the kerfuffle was about.

  5. Postpublished at 20:34 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2021

    Man Utd 0-1 Arsenal

There's no hint of Arsenal giving United a goal back there - although Cristiano Ronaldo has a chance of his own but it's saved.

It is an incredible decision. Yes, you have head injuries that are allowed to stop the game. But this is a genuine injury. It is impossible for Manchester United to do anything to stop the goal. De Gea would have saved it. An unbelievable decision. Amazing.

    Man Utd 0-1 Arsenal

United players are furious but there was no reason to disallow it I can see. It was very unfortunate for David de Gea and United, but that's life.

  8. KICK-OFFpublished at 20:33 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2021

    Tottenham 1-0 Brentford

Brentford haven't managed a shot on target. That's going to have to change if they're to get anything from this. Back under way.

    Breaking

    Man Utd 0-1 Arsenal

It was very, very, very unclear if Martin Atkinson was giving that or not. Nobody knew.

Eventually he points to the centre circle and the goal stands. There was no reason to disallow that really.

David de Gea looks to have recovered now.

    Emile Smith Rowe

What a strange one. I thought this was disallowed but actually don't see how it could be.

David de Gea is hurt as a corner comes in, but he wasn't fouled - Fred was nearest him.

He is down on the ground injured as Emile Smith Rowe volleys in from 20 yards.

    But there was no foul.

    HT: Tottenham 1-0 Brentford

    Glenn Murray
Former Brighton striker on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

There is more expectancy on the Tottenham players and more impetus in their attacking play.

They have just lacked a little bit of quality in the final third. They could have put Brentford to the sword already.

  12. Postpublished at 20:26 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2021

Cristiano Ronaldo's first sight of goal. Fred wins the ball off Thomas Partey and picks out Ronaldo but the ex-Sporting Lisbon man shoots well wide from 25 yards.

Clever from Arsenal. They are occupying the half but are confident enough to say to Man Utd 'if you want to try that ball over the top, we've got that'.

He [Ralf Rangnick] is very impassive isn't he. Like a professor watching his students. He'll be going through the movements in his head wondering what he can put right tomorrow.

  15. Postpublished at 20:25 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2021

    Man Utd 0-0 Arsenal

Good Arsenal move. Thomas Partey surges forward and finds Emile Smith Rowe. He picks out Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang but the Gunners captain snatches at his shot and it's into the hands of David de Gea.

United's first proper attack. Diogo Dalot is picked out in space on the right, he cuts inside and drills in a shot from 20 yards but it's a simple save from Aaron Ramsdale.

United players have given the ball away a couple of times, Arsenal are looking slightly more composed on the ball.

They work the ball back and forward looking for some spark but Alex Telles defends well.

Brentford have been OK - they've had some good spells of possession. They are still in the game at 1-0, they could easily have gone in 2-0 down.

    The game is still alive.
