Aston Villa are regaining a bit of control after a good response by Chelsea following their equaliser.

Well after all the goals this afternoon I was worried these two late games were going to end goalless but we've had two so far and looking very likely to see more as Edouard Mendy is quick off his line to beat Ollie Watkins to Morgan Sanson's great ball.

Chelsea are looking much more confident after that quick leveller, just what they needed after conceding a disappointing goal from their point of view.

Chelsea are going to have to come from behind if they are to get back to winning ways after successive draws.

Once again, however, troubling the goalkeeper is proving troublesome. They haven't managed a shot on target with 30 minutes gone.

Mason Mount hits a curling effort from distance that has Emi Martinez worried for a moment but it bounces off the top of the crossbar. That's the closest Chelsea have come to a goal so far.

A good spell of possession for Chelsea ends with them winning a corner as Matty Cash takes no chances with a cross. Once again, however, the set piece delivery finds an Aston Villa player first.

Now Ollie Watkins charges away down the left. For a moment he looks to have got the better of the Chelsea defence for pace but Trevoh Chalobah gets back superbly to deal with the danger.

Most of Chelsea's admittedly limited threat so far is coming through Marcos Alonso. He's finding lots of space on the left and fires in a good cross to the far post but Mason Mount's first-time shot is blocked.

Jacob Ramsey bursts into the box for Aston Villa and goes down under a Trevoh Chalobah challenge. There's some shouts for a penalty but nothing is given.

Still, another good move by a Villa side that has started very strongly.

Aston Villa are looking really dangerous with Danny Ings making runs down the middle, Ollie Watkins pulling defenders wide and Emiliano Buendía orchestrating moves impressively just behind.

Ings makes one of those runs to get onto a ball onto the edge of the area and gets a shot off but it is deflected behind.

No goals yet, but it has been a pretty entertaining start.
