Rick Harris: United so short of centre backs that Phil Jones starts tonight - hasn't played for 2 years! Rashford benched again and rightly so, better to start with Cavani and CR7 up top. Would like to see Lingard get on too at some point.
Peter Humfrey: Neutral here, saw Phil Jones to start and had to check the year. All jokes aside (and there are many), great to see him starting after so long out.
Liam Dawson: To be fair, if Phil Jones has a shocker today he would fit in quite well with this current United set up.

Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick will not let veteran striker Edinson Cavani leave the club this month.
The 34-year-old Uruguayan has scored 19 goals in 49 appearances for United but had been linked to Barcelona.
"We had quite a few conversations in the last couple of weeks - probably the player with whom I have spoken most," Rangnick said.
"I told him from the very first day that, for me, he is a highly important player.
"He is probably the only one who can play as a striker back to goal and face to goal.
"His professionalism, his work ethic is just amazing and I told him that I desperately want him to stay until the end of the season."

Wolves boss Bruno Lage will need to sell before he can buy in this month's transfer window.
Lage said on Friday that he would like to bring in a new central defender, a winger and a striker to bolster his squad.
BBC Sport understands that will only happen if Lage agrees to sell one of his current stars, which brings the future of winger Adama Traore, whose contract expires in 2023, back into question.
More likely, Lage will bring in a loan signing to try and consolidate the club's place in the top half of the table.

Phil Jones' last three Premier League appearances have all come in different years (not consecutive years either).
Man Utd v Wolves (17:30 GMT)
Phil Jones' last Manchester United goal was on 26 January 2020.
Also, Jones has scored in every United game he has played in since 26 January 2020.

Manchester United have won their opening league game in five of the past six calendar years, with the exception a 2-0 loss at Arsenal in 2020.
Wolves have not won their first game of the calendar year in any of their seven previous Premier League campaigns (D2, L5). Their most recent such victory as a top-flight side came in 1981 against Middlesbrough.

Andy Mitten, editor of United We Stand: "It is a surprise and I am pleased for him. He has been at the club over a decade and has been beset by multiple injuries, I think I counted 14 different injuries. He has not wanted that, he has become a figure of ridicule from some people on social media but he will get a good reception from Manchester United fans tonight.
"He has not wanted to be injured, he has wanted to play football every day. He is a good defender, he has had some really good games over the years and he will be as keen as anyone to prove he still has it."

Adama Traore looks increasingly likely to leave Wolves in January, according to the Telegraph's Luke Edwards.
The 25-year-old Spain winger has gone off the boil a bit after his electric form of a couple of years ago.
Speaking on the Transfer Gossip Daily podcast, Edwards said: "Wolves need to sell to buy, and Traore seems to be one of their saleable assets.
"I really like him as a player. I think he’s been linked with Tottenham again and they were interested in the summer.
"It’s definitely one to keep an eye on, mainly because I don’t think there is much money to spend at Wolves - so if they are going to strengthen the squad elsewhere they are going to cash in."

James Beswick: Great to see Phil Jones back - a Man Utd fan favourite who has got more than his fair share of stick over the years. I might be amongst the minority who hopes he proves his doubters wrong today!
Dr David: Phil Jones = shop window.

Phil Jones has started his warm-up with a passing drill with central defensive partner Raphael Varane.
Jones spoke a couple of months ago about the mental issues he had faced during his prolonged absence, let alone the physical ones.
He deserves so much praise for having the fortitude to come back.

I just remembered 35-year-old former Republic of Ireland and Hull centre-back Paul McShane is technically a Manchester United player (google it if you don't believe me). I wonder how close he was to the starting line-up.

Wolves don't score many so I'm backing Manchester United here, but it is going to be very interesting to see what kind of performance we see from Ralf Rangnick's side.
United were awful against Newcastle and, although they were much better against Burnley, their inconsistency is one of the things Rangnick has to tackle if they are going to make it into the top four.
Lawro's prediction: 1-0

Peter Malath: Ok Rangnick, you have screwed yourself already. Phil Jones? Really? At least play Shaw there and Telles at left back.
Daniel Quirk: Whats could possibly go wrong.
Johnny, Cheshire: Now waiting in anticipation for the Phil Jones elastic face!

Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick: "I can only judge Phil Jones from the last four weeks and he has always been very professional, very much involved and since all other three centre-backs out, he was the logical choice.
"Harry Maguire receieved an injury against Burnley and had problems the day after the game. Since last night, we knew all three were out."
On Ronaldo being captain of Man Utd for just second time: "He is the most experienced player. The choice was David de Gea or him, but I wanted to have a few players with the captaincy.
"Leaving Fernandes out was a tough decision to make. He is one of our most important creative players, but we played well against Burnley, so stayed with the same formation we played against them."

Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek has not had the easiest time since his move from Ajax in 2020.
His efforts to leave were initially blocked by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and now it seems United's interim boss Ralf Rangnick is not too keen to let the Dutchman go either, even though he has managed just eight minutes' Premier League action in four substitute appearance since Solskjaer was sacked in November.
"I had a longer conversation with him," said Rangnick.
"Of course it's difficult for him right now because he also wants to play for the Dutch national team and play in the World Cup in Qatar. In order to do that he needs to get game-time here.
"But I still believe that we should keep him, that he should stay here, definitely until the end of this season and try to get as much game-time as he possibly can."
