I am not entirely sure what happened then.
Cristiano Ronaldo had plenty of time to see the flight of the ball, the chance looked an inviting one, but he never even got his head on it.
Strange.
Brentford 0-0 Wolves
Brentford team-mates Mathias Jensen and Rico Henry have a heavy clash of heads as they both go for the same header.
Jensen has got blood all over his forehead and Henry doesn't look too good either. They are both sat up and receiving treatment though.
Leeds 0-0 Newcastle
Leeds are attacking like the Leeds of last season - fast and incisive.
They are away down the left and the ball is crossed for Dan James but it is just behind him and he can't wrap his foot around the ball to hook in a shot before the defence clears.

The Leeds crowd are up for this one as both sides see sight of goal in the early stages and some fairly robust challenges on the near side ignite the situation further.
That was a superb save by Martin Dubravka and Fabian Schar looks shaken up by an accidental knee in the head by Daniel James.
Leeds are asking the early question of their opponents.
Man Utd 0-0 West Ham
Bruno Fernandes curls it in from the left, Cristiano Ronaldo dives for it, it skims off his head and flies just wide of the post.
INCHES.
Brentford 0-0 Wolves
Another Ethan Pinnock throw-in from Brentford. It comes to the edge of the box but Sergi Canos' shot is blocked.
Bryan Mbeumo dances into the box afterwards and wins a corner off Rayan Aït-Nouri.

The three chances Manchester United have had from either wing, the delivery has been quite poor.
But I like the look of Anthony Elanga, he's lively.
Brentford 0-0 Wolves
There's a scuffle in the box as Jose Sa goes down while Brentford are preparing for a long throw-in.
Eventually it comes in, is flicked on and almost bundled in at the back post before it's cleared. Wolves then break, and Jonas Lossl comes chaging out to hoof it away.
Leeds 0-0 Newcastle
Allan Saint-Maximin, always looking like Newcastle's most dangerous player, twists and turns on the edge of the Leeds box. The home defence is keeping its shape well but Saint-Maximin finds a gap but clips his effort wide.

It's balanced nicely on pace, physique, good touches from players up front.
I think we are in for a good afternoon here.
West Ham are not just set up to defend, once they get the ball they bomb forward.
Brentford 0-0 Wolves
Brentford have had a few promising attacks down the left. Ivan Toney can't get a cross away this time but the hosts are straight back at it when Conor Coady has to put behind Mathias Jensen's cross.
Leeds 0-0 Newcastle
England boss Gareth Southgate is at Elland Road and the lady stood behind him looks very shocked.

Steve in Milan: Has Ronaldo ever scored a free kick? Success rate must be very low.
Papito M&N: Greenwood already been wasteful in this early stage shocking and poor decision making.
Man Utd 0-0 West Ham
Cristiano Ronaldo's shot is blocked by Craig Dawson. Michail Antonio goes charging down the other end, skips past Rafael Varane and is almost in the box before Harry Maguire eventually stops him.
Leeds 0-0 Newcastle
Big save by Martin Dubravka!
Rodrigo plays a brilliant ball into the box, Raphinha cuts it back for Dan James, whose shot is kept out by Dubravka.
Momentum took James into Fabian Schar and both are needing treatment.

After driving his free-kick into the wall, Cristiano Ronaldo was disappointed when Mason Greenwood went for goal with the rebound.
He indicated to the youngster he should have been looking to cross towards the far post, which just happened to be where he had gone.
In fairness, he has scored a lot of goals, so he should know.
Man Utd 0-0 West Ham
Vladimir Coufal feeds in Tomas Soucek down the right but he's tracked by Scott McTominay.

Can't help feeling this is going to be a pivotal game for Man Utd and will determine the direction of travel for the remainder of this season.

Brentford 0-0 Wolves
Brentford look lively too but Wolves are a threat on the break. The visitors handle a few minutes of pressure before counter-attacking down the left.
Fabio Silva then cuts inside off the left but his curling effort is comfortably wide and over.
