    FT: Senegal 3-1 Equatorial Guinea

    Nedum Onuoha
Former Manchester City defender on BBC Two

I think Senegal deserved it and are the better side, but credit to Equatorial Guinea, they really took it to them.

At 1-1 I was wondering which way it was going to go.

    Kolo Toure
Former Ivory Coast & Arsenal defender Kolo Toure on BBC Two

I thought Equatorial Guinea played the best football. They really tried to put Senegal under pressure.

But when you have quality players like Sadio Mane in the team and players like Ismaila Sarr coming off the bench, it is difficult for them.

Equatorial Guinea must be proud of what they have done. It is hard to play against those top players but they have given their all, fought for their country and can be proud of what they have done.

Senegal needed to play the kind of football everyone expected of them to overcome a stubborn Equatorial Guinea team.

The Teranga Lions will now face Burkina Faso in the semi-finals - two teams with similar styles.

Equatorial Guinea will need to return home and continue to develop this team and try and qualify for next year's Nations Cup to prove the run in Cameroon was not down to luck.

    Senegal 3-1 Equatorial Guinea

A special shoutout to Equatorial Guinea, who got to the last eight with a team made mostly of Spanish lower league players.

Just reaching this stage was a huge achivement for the team ranked 114th in the world.

But Senegal's class showed in the end.

It's a valiant effort from Equatorial Guinea to reach the knockout stages causing shocks as they go and producing a fantastic brand of football. They really can be proud of their showing at this tournament - they have been a credit to themselves and their nation.

    Nick Cavell
    BBC Africa Sport in Cameroon

Ismaila Sarr often refers to Sadio Mane as his 'big brother' and you can see what it means for the two of them to combine for that goal.

Incredible for Ismaila Sarr, who joined the Senegal squad then flew to Barcelona for treatment on a knee injury - with the help of the Watford medical staff.

He arrived a few days ago in Cameroon to join his team-mates and now scores the goal that takes his team to the semi-finals.
