A goal of brilliant quality. Brilliant diagonal ball by Kalidou Koulibaly, brought down brilliantly by Saliou Ciss and a simple pull-back to present the easiest of tasks for Ismaila Sarr to finish into the open net.

Senegal get that two-goal cushion which takes them into the last 10 minutes in a far more comfortable state of mind.

Ismaila Sarr's last game of football was Watford's 4-1 win over Manchester United, the result which cost Ole Gunnar Solskjaer his job. He scored in that one too.

    Ismaila Sarr

Ismaila Sarr scores in his first game of football since November and that might be it.

Saliou Ciss pulls the ball across the box and Sarr has a straightforward finish from close range.

    Senegal 2-1 Equatorial Guinea

Equatorial Guinea have done themselves proud here. Emilio Nsue just can't control a ball on the edge of the box and Senegal can get away.

Ismaila Sarr goes on a run down the right wing but is tackled. I hope he's been following the news back in England or else he'll be very surprised when he sees Roy Hodgson at Watford training.

Crystal Palace's Cheikhou Kouyate, who played much of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations as a makeshift centre-back for Senegal, with (I think) his first touch of the ball gets the Senegalese fans singing again.

He made the most as two Equatorial Guinea defenders made a mess of a clearance to flick the ball home. Any way back for the Nzalang Nacional?

Calamity for Equatorial Guinea. They deal with the corner but it's a lack of communication. Cheikhou Kouyate takes the chance and that is a gift for Senegal. He will have been asked by his manager to make an impact and what an impact he has made.

The underdogs are straight on the front foot though.

Basilio Ndong has a cross blocked and they get a couple more balls into the box.

Cheikhou Kouyate's know-how is so key to Senegal, just to turn the tide back in their favour. What a blessing it is to bring on a player with his quality.

    Cheikhou Kouyate

    What a mess.

Equatorial Guinea make a mess of clearing a corner and they gift Senegal the lead.

Two defenders try to head clear but they just nudge the ball behind them into the path of Cheikhou Kouyate, who gets his foot up high to poke it past the keeper with one of his first touches.
