    Bernardo Silva

The defending Premier League champions are ahead!

It is a goal that highlights the quality Manchester City have as they open up Swindon swiftly and incisively, Cole Palmer playing a brilliant ball across the face of goal from the right and Bernardo Silva is there to smash into the roof of the net.

    Swindon 0-0 Man City

Harry McKirdie is playing with the confidence of a player who hit four in his last game as he stays up for a Manchester City corner and as the ball is cleared he tries to bring it down and break through but his control lets him down.

Could have been a dangerous moment for the visitors.

    Swindon 0-0 Man City

A poor kick out by Swindon goalkeeper Lewis Ward as he hits the ball straight to Kevin de Bruyne. The midfielder's initial shot is blocked but he is onto the loose ball before Jordan Lyden throws himself of the Belgium international's second effort.

They have to be patient, Swindon. They have to accept that Man City will have a majority of the ball. They need to stay solid and compact and not be stretched as a team.

    Swindon 0-0 Man City

Good defending by Swindon to cut out a Manchester City attack but Ben Gladwin is too eager to start a counter and his ball forward is intercepted.

    Swindon 0-0 Man City

And now Joao Cancelo is back defending as he does enough to put off Jordan Lyden as the Swindon man tried to meet a ball into the box.

The visitors are seeing a lot more of the ball but have to be wary at the back, especially in these early stages when Swindon will be really pushing to cause an early shock.

  7. CLOSE!published at 5 mins

    Swindon 0-0 Man City

Another warning for Swindon as Joao Cancelo does superbly down the left to knock the ball past a couple of Swindon players and then crosses low for the unmarked Bernardo Silva, who swipes over.

    Should have done better.

Swindon have to make sure that when they get the ball, they get a couple of passes off otherwise they will do a lot of chasing tonight.

    Swindon 0-0 Man City

It is a spirited start by the Swindon players as they look to give Manchester City as little time on the ball as possible and when they are on it they are putting them under immediate pressure.

    Swindon 0-0 Man City

Manchester City, as you'd expect, attack from the outset as they work the ball well down the right before Cole Palmer's shot deflects over the goal for the game's first corner.

Kevin de Bruyne sends the ball in towards the near post but Ben Gladwin heads away, prompting huge cheers from the home fans.

It is tight for space in the tunnel as Swindon and Manchester City players wait to come out on the pitch.

One of my fondest memories as a journalist was covering Swindon Town for the 2011-12 season.

They were managed by Paolo Di Canio - as charismatic as he was unpredictable - but Robins fans will well know that this in particular was a great season under the Italian as they breezed to promotion to League One.

Funnily enough they also produced an FA Cup upset on this day 10 years ago, beating then Premier League Wigan in the third round at the County Ground.

Could another upset be on the cards tonight?

    Manchester City

Manchester City's stand-in boss Rodolfo Borrell, speaking to ITV Sport: "We have prepared from the very beginning to play the game. We have fielded a strong squad. We are taking the competition seriously and the FA Cup is a very important competition for us.

"We have been in touch [with Pep Guardiola] in terms of preparations and we will have him in touch with us with one of the staff in case we need him but he has told us he believes in us.

"Any game in the FA Cup is a very tough game, especially when you play away. The atmosphere is going to be unbelievable, we have already seen that when we arrived. We expect a very tough game."
