    #bbcfootball Can I ask why you put a score flash on the live reports before you know VAR is checking? Would it not be more sensible to wait?! Fans IN the stadium are frustrated as it is without frustrating others!

    Because the goal is given at the time, it's just then overturned. The only other option would be to wait a minute or so before telling you about every goal in case VAR got involved. And I'm sure nobody wants that.
