I know they had a poor start but did anyone actually think Newcastle would go down? They are so much better than the teams around the bottom.

    Lee, Liverpool fan

They're so much better now but I'm not sure that was true a few months ago...

  2. 'The confidence is there'published at 17:00 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2022

    FT: Burnley 0-4 Chelsea

    Chelsea

Chelsea forward Kai Havertz: "We're very pleased. The result is very good for us. We needed these goals and the clean sheet. It was difficult, especially in the first half. It was important that we scored early in the second half.

"We switched our formation a little bit [at half-time] - I think that helped us. Reece’s goal was brilliant and it helped us a lot. We’re pleased about these four goals.

"The confidence is there. I think after the loss in the Carabao Cup final it was a little bit hard to come back, but we showed great character in the FA Cup.

"The first six months of the year were hard, especially the winter when we had a lot of injuries. We’re on a good run again and we want to keep that going."

On scoring twice: "It’s always very difficult when you don’t score, but these goals help. Sometimes you have to wait a bit to get them. I always want more and more.

On Reece James: "He’s a special player for us, a very important player for us. He’s a full-back, but he also scores. He’s a great character and a very good player."

    Burnley 0-4 Chelsea

Chelsea’s win over Burnley was the biggest by an away team in a Premier League match that was goalless at half-time since Tottenham won 4-0 at Aston Villa in December 2012.

The last time they won a Premier League away match by at least four goals was on 28 October 2018 - also at Burnley.

January 2015 was the last time they scored four goals in a half of Premier League away football - in the first half at Swansea.

    And those are your stats.

    FT: Burnley 0-4 Chelsea

    Michael Brown
Former Manchester City midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

Chelsea weathered a storm from Burnley who created chances and gave them problems.

Once Burnley did not take those chances you always felt that with the quality Chelsea have they were always going to create their own.

Very disappointing in the end for Burnley but a quality performance from Chelsea.

This is a big week for Brentford. They have dealt with Norwich and Burnley are up next.

It's so comfortable for Chelsea. The goals came in quick succession at the start of the second half. Burnley seemed to fall away after the first goal.
