Uday: For all those saying the Newcastle turnaround is due to investment in January, maybe just maybe the downward spiral of the club over the last 14 years is due to a lack of investment. Brilliant Bruce still can’t buy a win and Howe has turned the club around

    Wolves 0-2 Crystal Palace

    Leon Osman
Former Everton midfielder on Final Score

It’s a great penalty - a goal and an assist now for Wilfried Zaha.

When he has this influence on a game, Crystal Palace are fantastic.

Chris Green: Everyone saying we [Newcastle] bought a new team. We are playing one loan player, a £12m defender and a £25m striker who hasn’t scored. Meanwhile arguably our 4 most talented players are on the bench or injured. Eddie is doing in an incredible job.

    Newcastle 2-0 Brighton

    Alistair Magowan
BBC Sport at St James' Park

Despite going two goals behind, Brighton are still playing some nice stuff. But each time they get near to the area, they are met with Joelinton the interceptor, who seems to have limbs everywhere.

And if they make it past the Brazilian midfielder, they then seem to cross it to their former team-mate Dan Burn. Lads, he plays for the other team now!

Or it might be the fact Burn has been in the right place at the right time. Let's call him the anticipator. The Newcastle centre-back has been excellent so far.

  7. 'Huge miss from McNeil'published at 15:35 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2022

    Burnley 0-0 Chelsea

    Michael Brown
Former Manchester City midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

It tells you why Dwight McNeil has not scored in so many games. Edouard Mendy has a rush of blood, tries to punch the ball, misses it completely and it falls right to the feet of McNeil. He takes a touch, sets himself and somehow side-foots it over an empty net only eight yards out. Huge miss.

Re 15:23 - It's a bit disingenuous suggesting Everton have slipped into the bottom 3 when Burnley's supposed "draw" is still in the first half and against the European champions!

Hey Kev, Graham Potter is a brilliant manager. He just hasn't been supplied the tools to succeed.

    Antony

Regarding Mark's comment, there is no doubt that Newcastle were one of the 3 worst teams in the league for the first half of the season. They now have a brilliant manager and have bought half a new team which is why they are doing better. Good luck to them but is it fair that a team can do this mid season??

    Chris, Hants

Think the "incredible turnaround for Newcastle" might have something to do with the £90m spent in January, Michael Brown!
