McTominay takes matters into his own hands and clatters Joao Cancelo to end the insults. He then sends a verbal volley at his fallen foe. Probably not a good time to be chirping I reckon, Scott.

Oh, this is almost the pick the bunch!

A threaded pass down the right releases Kyle Walker, who stops at the byline, takes stock and then chips a cross to near the edge of the box where Joao Cancelo is waiting to fling himself into the air for an acrobatic volley. He meets it with his shin but still sends it on target and is only denied his worldy by a diving save from David de Gea.

Winning the Premier League is not about playing well all the time, it is about winning ugly. Liverpool and City are doing that and they are the best two teams in the country. For United, it is about not being humiliated; there are more important games coming up in order to try and get in that top four.

We are watching two teams in different quality. Apart from the moment when Sancho scored, City have been in total control of everything, led by the captain Kevin De Bruyne. Man for man, they are an incredible team; Man Utd have no answers.

For all City's attacking flair, their work-rate (fuelled by the adrenaline of a 3-1 lead, granted) is just as impressive.

United look to break, but Fred is run to ground on halfway by a combination of Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva.

The only way Man Utd have been able to halt Kevin de Bruyne today is by fouling him. Alex Telles shoulder-checks him to the turf for a free-kick wide right in the United half.

What a fantastic idea and finish, but I cannot believe what I'm watching. It is a corner kick; United have just been warned that De Bruyne is looking for Mahrez. He had a chance just before, should have scored. This time, there was nobody near him; the deflection off Maguire takes it away from De Gea, who would have saved it.

6 - Uwe Rösler (April to November 1994)

6 - Álvaro Negredo (October to December 2013)

5 - Sergio Agüero (April to August 2015)

Josh: Question: Is Maguire's transfer to United the biggest waste of money in Premier League history? Sincerely, a concerned Manchester United fan

Simon: Next manager should prioritise selling De Gea, Maguire and Lindelof, and letting Pogba off on a free. Our biggest liabilities today. Plus let Ronaldo and Cavani retire in peace, then rebuild afresh.

Manchester United captain Harry Maguire is having a dismal game. Involved in all of Manchester City's goals, his tackle on Kevin De Bruyne which earned a yellow card was agricultural and desperate.

That goal had been coming from the very start of the second half.

City have been superb since the break.

Marcus Rashford tries to keep the game alive with a driving, weaving run but after getting into the box he is halted and dispossessed.

    Riyad Mahrez

    What a finish!

It's not a Paul Scholes special, but it's on those lines. Kevin de Bruyne floats his corner over pretty much everyone in the box and to the back of the box. It is perfect for Riyad Mahrez to meet on the half volley and stroke into the far corner via a deflection off Harry Maguire's knee.

    Game over? Probably.

Well, United have been under the cosh for much of this half. But they are still very much in the game.

Jesse Lingard is almost found by Alex Telles' booming cross-field pass, but the ball just drifts away, allowing Joao Cancelo to cut in.
