    Brentford 1-0 Burnley

    Pat Nevin
Former Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

It’s what we’ve been saying since the first 10 minutes – you need to give space to Christian Eriksen.

It’s a beautiful ball in and Ivan Toney was just waiting for it.

  2. 'Great finish'published at 16:46 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March 2022

    Brentford 1-0 Burnley

    Dion Dublin
Former Premier League striker on Final Score

We know how good Ivan Toney is. We know he will be in the right area at the right time.

Brentford have got into this position so many times to day but we haven’t seen Toney on the end of it.

    Great finish.

  3. goal

GOAL - Brentford 1-0 Burnleypublished at 16:43 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March 2022

    Ivan Toney

    The breakthrough!

Absolutely huge goal for both clubs as Ivan Toney meets a brilliant, deep cross from Christian Eriksen and sends a downward header into the back of the net.

Brentford are taking a big step to safety but what a huge blow for Burnley.

    Brentford 0-0 Burnley

"Shooooooot" shout the Brentford fans as Christian Eriksen has the ball on the edge of the area.

The midfielder twists and turns to open up a bit of space but the final product is disappointing as he scuffs his shot at Nick Pope.

  5. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 80 mins

    Brentford 0-0 Burnley

Into the final 10 minutes and Brentford make another change as Mathias Jensen comes on for Christian Noergaard.

  6. 'Burnley have more confidence in Rodriguez'published at 16:38 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March 2022

    Brentford 0-0 Burnley

    Pat Nevin
Former Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

Burnley are getting better. It’s their best spell of the game so far and it has coincided with Jay Rodriguez coming on.

The Burnley players have more confidence in him as well. They’re sending balls into dangerous areas.

  7. 'Hectic but mediocre'published at 16:38 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March 2022

    Brentford 0-0 Burnley

    Garth Crooks
Former Tottenham Hotspur striker on Final Score

Burnley’s defending has been pretty good. James Tarkowski has been outstanding.

It’s been hectic but mediocre. Both teams have lacked quality in the last third.

  8. 'Finishing is letting both teams down'published at 16:37 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March 2022

    Brentford 0-0 Burnley

    Dion Dublin
Former Premier League striker on Final Score

Both teams are trying to play some really good stuff, but when that hasn’t worked they are both having to bypass the midfield and go long to the forwards.

They are both trying plan A and B but neither is working.

The quality of the ball is good, but the finishing is letting them down.

  9. De Gea scarepublished at 16:36 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March 2022

Man Utd v Tottenham (17:30 GMT)

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport at Old Trafford

Manchester United sought clarification over David de Gea's availability after a COVID testing issue.

Evidently, the verdict came down in the Spain international's favour.

I wonder what Dean Henderson thinks about that. Henderson has failed to make the breakthrough he hoped this season. Will be interesting if he is around next term.

  10. Postpublished at 79 mins

    Brentford 0-0 Burnley

Dwight McNeil's shot is blocked before he fizzes a dangerous low ball into the middle of the box but Brentford clear.

Burnley are the side pushing for a late winner at the moment.

  11. 'The keeper was nowhere near it'published at 16:35 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March 2022

    Brentford 0-0 Burnley

    Pat Nevin
Former Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

That was the best moment of the game by a country mile.

He’s so far out, you’re thinking he can’t have a go from there. The goalkeeper was nowhere near it whatsoever.

  12. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 77 mins

    Brentford 0-0 Burnley

    So close!

It feels like a moment of magic is the only way this will be decided and Jay Rodriguez almost produces it as he hits a stunning, swirling effort from way out that smacks against the bar.

Huge save by David Raya as Rico Henry fluffs an attempted backpass and Maxwel Cornet is in on goal, Raya comes off his line to narrow down the gap and Cornet shoots straight at him.

Man Utd v Tottenham (17:30 GMT)

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport at Old Trafford

NFL legend Tom Brady is at Old Trafford today.

I assume he is here to watch Tottenham's Harry Kane, who is a massive NFL fan.

Brady has previously said he is a big 'soccer' fan and Lionel Messi and Diego Maradona were his favourite players.

  20. 'Brilliant by Tarkowski'published at 16:25 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March 2022

    Brentford 0-0 Burnley

    Pat Nevin
Former Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

Burnley defenders don’t take risks. They defend simply and give very, very little away.

It was brilliant defending once again there by James Tarkowski.
