Delcan Rice has improved. He's got really good pace and drives forward. People are comparing him to Steven Gerrard. He's calm with his passing. He's growing in stature.

Into the final few minutes at the end of this first half.

West Ham look to restore parity before the break. It comes from a driving run from Declan Rice, who gets into the Saints box and sets up Michail Antonio. But he takes the wrong option, going for a shot through bodies that deflects to Willy Caballero.

Declan Rice is some player. A great reader of a game.

He makes a vital tracking run into his own area to intercept a pass and prevent Saints from fashioning a chance for Adam Armstrong.

It is a fantastic 45 minutes of FA Cup football, following on from last night, again a brilliant atmosphere and Chelsea didn't know what hit them. They came back into it, chance after chance, but what a goal Luton scored and they weren't fazed.

  6. Postpublished at 20:09 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March 2022

    Southampton 1-0 West Ham

West Ham have been sloppy tonight. Too many passes going astray. They've offered little since the goal.

  7. Postpublished at 20:08 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March 2022

    Southampton 1-0 West Ham

You can see why Saints are proving such a tough side to face. Ralph Hasenhuttl has them really well drilled, with those two wide players darting inside and finding space. Tough to track. And in Shane Long and Adam Armstrong they have very willing pressing forwards up top.

Comfortable home victories over Shrewsbury Town and Cardiff City saw Liverpool through to tonight's fifth round for just the second time in seven seasons. Not since reaching the 2014-15 semi-finals have the Reds managed to progress further.

They last won this competition in 2006, courtesy of that stunning 3-1 penalty shoot-out win over West Ham, following a 3-3 draw.

In contrast, Norwich have only made it past the fifth round once since 1992 and arrive at Anfield as the Premier League's bottom club. In addition, it was the Reds who knocked them out of this season's Carabao Cup - via a 3-0 result at Carrow Road.

Jurgen Klopp's side are also currently on a 10-game winning streak and have won their last six against City, who haven't beaten the Reds since 1994. Liverpool's last game at Anfield? Oh, just a 6-0 win over Leeds.

A small glimmer of hope for the Canaries is that they did beat in-form Wolves in the last round to set up this tie.

Ibrahima Diallo almost gets himself in bother again by dwelling on the ball near his own box. He is fortunate to be given a foul for the snapping challenges from two West Ham players.

Kurt Zouma is getting the same treatment he has received at every ground in recent weeks. Boos for his every touch. I saw someone with an inflatable cat in the stands earlier.

    Martin Keown

That is an amazing strike. We were right behind that. It was so sweetly struck. I lost track of the amount of passes they had probing. When it comes out he hits it and it stays hit. He belts it into the corner. Nobody comes out to him and he gets this lift and lob it over the keeper with power.

This looks to be heading in from Antonio Rudiger, stepping up from the back and smashing a long ranger goalwards...

Nothing going right for Lukaku at the moment.

GOAL - Southampton 1-0 West Hampublished at 20:00 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March 2022

    Romain Perraud

    Pick that out!

Romain Perraud scores his first goal in English football and it is a full-on screamer. He is found in space on the left but way, way out. He takes one touch to get the ball out of his feet and fires a dipping, swerving shot into the far top corner of the net.

Alphonse Areola didn't have a prayer.
