Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp's lengthy rant at the officials is perhaps a sign of his growing frustration. They have not built on a strong start and Arsenal are right in this.

Gabriel Martinelli has the beating of Trent Alexander-Arnold and is giving him a very rough night.

Oooh. A lovely ball forward is controlled well by Sadio Mane. He shoots but Gabriel does enough to put him under pressure and it's over the bar.

Sergio Reguilón is played in behind on the left. The angle is wide but he fires it straight at the keeper.

Kieran Tierney tries to pick out Bukayo Saka but it's cleared. Arsenal are finishing the half strongly but want something to show for it.

Jurgen Klopp isn't happy with his side's performance so far.

Neal Maupay switches it over to the right but Brighton are just passing it around now without going anyway.

The latest spell of possession ends when Solly March pings it straight out for a goal kick.

Liverpool win a corner on the left. Gabriel clears it to Thiago. He does well to send it back in but Aaron Ramsdale can gather it in.

Trent Alexander-Arnold curls a dangerous ball in for Diogo Jota at the near post but it's well cleared by Arsenal.

It almost comes through to Sadio Mane a few moments later but Bukayo Saka is back there defending.

Brighton are still probing but to no avail. Matt Doherty is fouled inside his own half. Antonio Conte gestures to his players to slow things down.

Gabriel Martinelli is really giving Trent Alexander-Arnold a torrid time. Arsenal are on the front foot here.

Liverpool break. Diogo Jota finds Luis Diaz. He flicks it past a defender to get space on the right but holds it up for support and it's sent back across the middle with Thiago.

Arsenal have been the better side in the last 5-10 minutes, for sure. They move it around nicely on the edge of the box but can't make anything of it.

Bukayo Saka tries to attack Andy Robertson a few moments later but it's out for a goal kick.

Brighton are trying to get out wide but not getting too much joy. Marc Cucurella is stopped by a sliding Rodrigo Bentancur on the left.

Jurgen Klopp is furious Sadio Mane didn't get a free-kick from Cedric Soares in the middle and he's still chomping the ear off the fourth official.

His side have got possession meanwhile, as Luis Diaz challenges Kieran Tierney to a foot race... The Arsenal full-back wins it.

Arsenal are stepping it up now. Ben White plays it long for Bukayo Saka and Andy Robertson has to get the header right, which he does.

Brighton are going for it. Nothing to lose. On comes Danny Welbeck. Yves Bissouma is off.
