  1. 'We gave the game away very cheaply'published at 17:24 British Summer Time 2 April 2022

    FT: Chelsea 1-4 Brentford

    Chelsea

Here's more from Thomas Tuchel speaking to BBC Sport: "The start was not a surprise because we came from all over the world from national duty so I expected it to take time. The first 25 minutes we looked a bit leggy and needed to find rhythm. The opponent defended deep with 10 men behind the ball so you need a shot or action to open the game, which we did. Then we gave the game away very cheaply.”

On how this affects preparations for Real Madrid in midweek: “It is not about Real Madrid. It is about us. It is one day off now and on Monday we start again.”

If there is slight uncertainty over the reception Harry Maguire will get from Manchester United's supporters, he could probably anticipate the one he will get from the Leicester fans.

They have not forgotten Maguire left them - albeit for £80m.

They have a song about him, which can't be repeated verbatim on here but it involves him going away.

Thrilled for Brentford - proof that sometimes there is reward for hard work, and a result that should put smiles on the faces of neutral fans around the world.

  5. 'Nobody saw it coming'published at 17:20 British Summer Time 2 April 2022

    FT: Chelsea 1-4 Brentford

    Chelsea

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel speaking to BBC Sport: “Nobody saw it coming, especially after going 1-0 ahead. It was very untypical of us. But we stopped defending. We were not aware of enough of the danger, were sloppy with the defending and got punished.

"They made the most of it in those 10 minutes. Right after their third goal we had 10 minutes where we had big, big chances and we missed them. They were lucky and clinical enough to get three goals. We did not defend like it is needed to in the Premier League and got punished."

  6. 'Brentford will never forget this'published at 17:19 British Summer Time 2 April 2022

    FT: Chelsea 1-4 Brentford

    John Southall
BBC Radio 5 Live at Stamford Bridge

Brentford fans could not have envisaged this script.

Nobody prepared us for this at 0-0 at halftime, nobody prepared us for this when Antonio Rudiger smashed in a 35-yarder.

It was incredible. It was deserved.

    They will never forget this.

  7. 'Eriksen has been excellent'published at 17:18 British Summer Time 2 April 2022

    FT: Chelsea 1-4 Brentford

    Brentford

Brentford's Rico Henry, speaking to BBC Sport: "We had a lot of legs and we worked hard for one another.

"Christian Eriksen is quality on the ball and has been excellent since he has been in our changing room. He is on fire at the moment and long may it continue.

"It's a big win for us. It's a good day for us."

  8. What the Foxes have waited forpublished at 17:18 British Summer Time 2 April 2022

Man Utd v Leicester (17:30 BST)

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport at Old Trafford

After two concerted challenges for a top four place, Leicester will regard it as a success if they finish in the top half of the Premier League this season.

Brendan Rodgers' squad has been decimated by injury.

He must be relieved to see Jonny Evans and Wesley Fofana back today. It is the first time the pair have started a game together since last season's FA Cup Final.

  9. 'We have to stay positive'published at 17:17 British Summer Time 2 April 2022

    Brighton 0-0 Norwich

    Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton boss Graham Potter speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "It is a frustrating one, that is for sure. There were lots of positives in terms of our intent and how we went about things. The all important goal alluded us today and that is the only disappointing bit. We have to keep positive, keep going, and hopefully it will turn for us.

"I don't like to talk about luck. We need to keep working, keep giving the players opportunities. They performed well, they only had one chance at the end so we restricted them in that sense."

  10. 'What is Maguire being booed for?'published at 17:16 British Summer Time 2 April 2022

Who are the people booing Harry Maguire at Wembley? Are they people who just do that because they think that is entertaining or funny?

I don’t think Manchester United fans have booed him this season.

What is he being booed for? It can’t be his performances for England at Wembley because most of his performances there have been quite good.

  11. 'We lost control'published at 17:15 British Summer Time 2 April 2022

    FT: Chelsea 1-4 Brentford

    Chelsea

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel, speaking to Sky Sports: "We lost control for 10 minutes. It was a tough start for us which is also not the first time after an international break. We were OK in the first half and had a very good start to the second half and took the lead.

"Maybe we thought it was already done and we got punished in 10 minutes.

"In general we allowed too many shots and in general we lacked energy. We looked mentally tired which is normal after being around the world.

"After scoring we forgot we still had 40 minutes to play. I think it was deserved we took the lead.

"I did not have high expectations. We struggled and we found a way to be in the lead. We made life very complicated for ourselves because we stopped defending."

  12. 'One of Brentford's greatest results'published at 17:14 British Summer Time 2 April 2022

    FT: Chelsea 1-4 Brentford

    Chris Wise
BBC Radio 5 Live commentator at Stamford Bridge

One of the greatest results in Brentford’s modern history. Their first win against Chelsea since 1939. They were exceptional, and it’s now surely safe to say they’ll be around for a second season in the Premier League.

A rare day when West London belongs to Brentford.

  13. 'City are best in the league'published at 17:13 British Summer Time 2 April 2022

    FT: Burnley 0-2 Man City

    Burnley

Burnley defender James Tarkowski to PLP: "I think they are the best team in the league so it's not the worst result. We know we have games beyond this and we knew the challenge coming in today. We did alright. They are a great side.

"They are so hard to get hold of. The movement and the way they move the ball is so good. Conceding that early goal did hurt us. It was a difficult day but there's 10 big ones ahead of us starting with Everton.

"We need three points on the board but we won't put too much pressure on ourselves."

  14. Rangnick's riposte for LVGpublished at 17:11 British Summer Time 2 April 2022

Man Utd v Leicester (17:30 BST)

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport at Old Trafford

Louis van Gaal made a few waves this week when he was asked about the prospect of Ajax coach Erik Ten Hag becoming Manchester United's next manager.

"He should join a football club not a commercial club," said Van Gaal, who spent two years as United boss between 2014 and 2016.

Ralf Rangnick was asked about Van Gaal's comments in his press conference yesterday.

"The Premier League, when any rich person or company can buy a club, is a commercialised business," he said. "I don’t see anything negative in that.

"Louis himself as an experienced coach signed a contract here. He could have known that in advance if he had that opinion."

  15. 'We accept a proper battle'published at 17:08 British Summer Time 2 April 2022

    FT: Burnley 0-2 Man City

    Manchester City

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola to PLP: "We're many years playing in these types of games. We scored early on so that helped us a lot. But the game is never finished until you score the third or fourth.

"The pitch was so difficult because the grass was high, no water and everything was so slow. But we did well and won the game.

"The next Premier League game we will play against Liverpool so we know they are going to win almost all the games - hopefully not the next one - but we will try to do the same. It's Atletico Madrid next, then Liverpool.

"When Raheem Sterling comes back from the national team he is full of confidence. The numbers...and he is never injured, like Riyad Mahrez, so they play consistently.

"People say experience when you are old but it works when you get good lessons and you learn from them. What you have done in the past doesn't mean it will happen again. Every game will be like this. We need to play these games with this target and we will try.

"When you arrive in May challenging to lift the title it means you have had an incredible season. Being here is because we work a lot and we have done that every single season. That is a lot of credit for the whole organisation. We will fight. The opponent is so tough and good but they said we will make a proper battle and we accept that."

  16. 'Leicester have over achieved in years gone by'published at 17:07 British Summer Time 2 April 2022

Man Utd v Leicester (17:30 BST)

    Nedum Onuoha
Former Manchester City defender on BBC 5 Live

I keep believing Leicester will find form. It has just not been there this season.

Some of the goals they have conceded and mistakes they have made are costing them.

Their style of play is still there but the results could make you think they have over achieved in years gone by.

  17. Are Brentford safe?published at 17:06 British Summer Time 2 April 2022

    FT: Chelsea 1-4 Brentford

    Brentford

    Surely Brentford are safe now?

Pontus Jansson has jus told TV it's important the Bees "stay humble" until they are mathematically safe.

Brentford, who have seven games left, are 11 points clear of the relegation zone.

  18. 'Every game feels like a final'published at 17:03 British Summer Time 2 April 2022

    FT: Burnley 0-2 Man City

    Manchester City

Manchester City goalscorer Ilkay Gundogan speaking to Premier League Productions: "It's always tough to come here against a tough and physical side. They have a certain type of playing, we needed to be prepared for long balls to their tall striker and it's about winning second balls and trying to create chances and scoring. Obviously the two goals in the first half helped us a lot.

"The next two to three weeks will be decisive but every game feels like a final now to be honest. That's why it was very important to win today. You can't drop points otherwise it will be punished."

On midfield partner Kevin de Bruyne: "We all know he’s our key player. If he’s on form, we’re always able to win the games.
