The final international break of the 2021-22 season is over, leaving us to focus on the business end of a gripping domestic campaign - and what a weekend of Premier League football we have.

It has the potential to be a hugely significant round of fixtures at both ends of the table.

Here's everything you need to keep an eye on.

  2. Early team newspublished at 11:44 British Summer Time 2 April 2022

    Brighton v Norwich (15:00 BST)

Robert Sanchez and Tariq Lamptey are hoping to be available for Brighton despite withdrawing from international duty.

Alexis Mac Allister faced a late fitness test, while Adam Lallana is back in training but not ready to play.

Adam Webster and Moises Caicedo are also ruled out.

Norwich are without Ozan Kabak, who suffered a potentially serious hamstring injury playing for Turkey.

Josh Sargent's ankle problem will be monitored, while Brandon Williams is out and Max Aarons is also likely to be absent.

Christoph Zimmermann and Grant Hanley are back in contention.

Liverpool have put themselves in a position to achieve that [quadruple] and it would be something we have never seen. When you take into account they were 14 points behind Manchester City in January, it would be such an achievement to do that.

I remember thinking the title was done and dusted. For me, Liverpool were in a position where they had nothing to lose. The pressure was off them. But the pressure has changed a bit now in terms of they do have something to lose.

  4. 'We know what we need to do'published at 11:40 British Summer Time 2 April 2022

    Liverpool v Watford (12:30 BST)

    Watford

Watford boss Roy Hodgson speaking to BT Sport: "We are aware of the challenge. Teams around us took points which knocked our hopes back a little bit but of course today will be a very interesting test to see how well we can stand up to a team of Liverpool's quality.

"Ismaila Sarr's recovered. I haven't had that much chance to work with him because of the international breaks. He is an important figure in our desire and attempts to stay in the league so it's great to have him back.

"When you play against the top teams they are so confident and so well-drilled. You have to be careful and choose your moments to press them properly. It will take an enormous effort but we know what we need to do."

  5. Early team newspublished at 11:38 British Summer Time 2 April 2022

Burnley v Man City (15:00 BST)

Burnley remain without Erik Pieters (knee), Ben Mee (knee), Matej Vydra (elbow) and Johann Berg Gudmundsson (calf).

Defender Nathan Collins is suspended after being sent off against Brentford last month.

Manchester City's John Stones and Ederson will be assessed after withdrawing from international duty with injury and illness respectively.

Ruben Dias (hamstring) and Cole Palmer (foot) are both still sidelined.

We all know the situation. Liverpool are hunting a second Premier League title and could go top for at least a few hours today.

Jurgen Klopp's side are on a run of nine straight league victories.

They have also won their last nine Premier League matches at Anfield, scoring 27 goals and conceding just two.

They have the best home record in the Premier League this season and are unbeaten in their last 18 league games at Anfield.

Keep up that form, and the title MIGHT be theirs.

  7. 'We have to keep going'published at 11:32 British Summer Time 2 April 2022

    Liverpool v Watford (12:30 BST)

    Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp speaking to BT Sport: "One game at a time. We are not looking any differently. Every opponent deserves maximum respect. That's the starting point for us today, that we make sure we are really compact and don't give anything away, then we can start our game. It has to be high standards. These kinds of games are like finals for us, that's clear. We have to keep going.

"Trent Alexander-Arnold trained yesterday and looks really good but I think it's sensible to keep him on the bench. He is ready to come on. He is fully fit but trained only once so does not make too much sense.

"Sadio Mane stayed in Senegal for another night and only came back yesterday so that's the reason. We can bring them all on. Sadio looked top in training but we had to make the decision without really knowing how they will come back. Luis Diaz is on the bench because he was in Colombia. It is always tricky. We had to wait until the last minute really to make decisions."

  8. Team news - Alexander-Arnold on bench & Sarr backpublished at 11:30 British Summer Time 2 April 2022
    Breaking

    Liverpool v Watford (12:30 BST)

Four changes for Liverpool from their last Premier League match - the 2-0 win at Arsenal on 16 March.

Mohamed Salah, who was pelted with missiles and targeted by green laser pointers as Egypt missed out on the World Cup on Tuesday, returns along with Roberto Firmino, Joe Gomez and Curtis Jones.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has recovered from a hamstring injury and starts on the bench.

Gomez is making only his second Premier League start of the season. Sadio Mane and Luis Diaz are on the bench.

Liverpool XI: Alisson, Gomez, Matip, van Dijk, Robertson, Jones, Henderson, Thiago, Salah, Firmino, Jota.

Substitutes: Fabinho, Konate, Milner, Mane, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Tsimikas, Diaz, Kelleher, Alexander-Arnold.

This is Watford's first game for almost three weeks since a 2-1 win at Southampton on 13 March.

Winger Ismaila Sarr returns after missing the past three games because of a hamstring injury.

Emmanuel Dennis drops to the bench.

Watford XI: Foster, Femenia, Kabasele, Samir, Kamara, Sissoko, Louza, Kucka, Sarr, Joao Pedro, Hernandez.

Substitutes: Ngakia, King, Cleverley, Masina, Sema, Cathcart, Dennis, Bachmann, Kayembe.

Watford have earned eight points in nine matches under Roy Hodgson - one more than they did from seven games with Xisco Munoz and from 13 with Claudio Ranieri.

They won their most recent fixture, away to Southampton, and could go unbeaten in successive league matches for the first time since September.

If they cause an upset at Anfield it would also be their first consecutive wins on the road since September 2017.

The good news for Watford fans? Their last nine points have all come in away matches. They are currently on an eight-game losing streak at Vicarage Road.

  11. 'Results are all that matter'published at 11:22 British Summer Time 2 April 2022

    Liverpool v Watford (12:30 BST)

    Mark Lawrenson
    BBC football expert

Performances don't matter now for Liverpool or Manchester City - results are all that matter from here in the title race.

Liverpool have won their past nine league games but they have to forget all the noise and just focus on winning this one. Their task on Saturday will be to break down Watford because we know exactly how Roy Hodgson will set the Hornets up.

I don't think the Reds will have too much trouble there, though.

Watford got a good win last time out - at Southampton on 13 March - but we have seen them flicker into life before and then put in a disappointing display in their next game. I'd be very surprised if they held out for 90 minutes at Anfield.

    Prediction: 3-0

  12. Will Liverpool go top?published at 11:20 British Summer Time 2 April 2022

It's a big day at the top of the table - although every game between now and the end of the season is.

Liverpool could go top for at least a few hours with victory, or a draw, when they take on Watford in the early kick-off at Anfield.

Manchester City travel to Burnley at 15:00 BST but Pep Guardiola's side have a very strong record against the Clarets.

It means Liverpool will have all eyes on three points and nothing less as they look to keep up a thrilling two-horse race for the title.
