  1. GREAT SAVE!published at 9 mins

    Everton 0-0 Man Utd

    Decent chance for United.

It's pinged over to Victor Lindelöf at the back post. He nods it into the centre, it's not cleared properly by Everton and Marcus Rashford fires a powerful effort towards the left corner.

Jordan Pickford does well to dive across and make a strong save. Cristiano Ronaldo then fires comfortably wide a few moments later.

The rotations and passing from Everton, they've started with such tempo. Fabian Delph is trying to orchestrate in the middle, allowing Alex Iwobi and Allan to get forward and Anthony Gordon looks dangerous already.

It's been a fascinating start to this. Manchester United have hardly touched the ball really.

Alex Telles tries to get away on the left but he's watched all the way by Seamus Coleman and runs it out of play.

  4. Postpublished at 5 mins

    Everton 0-0 Man Utd

A groan from the Everton fans as another pass goes back from the home side under pressure in midfield.

Fabian Delph's diagonal ball is picked out by Fred and United will keep it at the back now.

  5. Postpublished at 4 mins

    Everton 0-0 Man Utd

Everton have had more of the ball early on. Seamus Coleman almost loses it to Bruno Fernandes on the touchline but Allan backs him up.

Marcus Rashford is then released by United but Allan is again there to mop up.

  6. 'No manager has quite worked at United yet'published at 12:32 British Summer Time 9 April 2022

    Rachel Brown-Finnis
    Ex-England goalkeeper on Football Focus

I would like to think that finally Manchester United might find the perfect fit with Erik ten Hag - but he's not proven in the Premier League. They've had every assortment of managers - proven Premier League managers, foreign managers who have had success in their respective leagues. But nothing has quite worked yet.

The fans want to find the next Pep Guardiola or Jurgen Klopp, the next young dynamic manager and most of all I think they want a style of play to bring back the Manchester United of old.

  7. Postpublished at 2 mins

    Everton 0-0 Man Utd

Fabian Delph's first touches are decent as he does well to regain possession for Everton in the middle and spin away safely.

Anthony Gordon then tries to feed it in on the right but it's cut-out.

Mr Jones: How come every single season there always seems to be a weekend where it’s Manchester vs Merseyside. Everton vs United to start weekend, City vs Liverpool to end it.

Everton have beaten Manchester United once in their past 15 meetings in all competitions (D6, L8).

United have recorded one victory from their past six Premier League games against the Toffees (D4, L1).

Everton v Man Utd (12:30 BST)

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Goodison Park

For all the mediocrity of this season, there is still hope that Manchester United might salvage something with a place in the top four.

They are only three points behind Spurs in fourth place but they really must win games like this against opposition as reduced in confidence as Everton, who are facing a real relegation crisis.

Can Manchester United be trusted to carry out the task in front of them? You wouldn't risk your Grand National money on it.

Bruno Fernandes has four goals and two assists in four league appearances against Everton.

He is aiming to become the first United player to score in three consecutive games at Goodison Park since Ruud van Nistelrooy between 2001 and 2004.

PG: All these theories about what's wrong at Utd. Look no further than the team sheet, that's a pretty average group of players. Majority of them wouldn't make Liverpool or City's bench!

Rikdeckard: It's just going to be another average performance by players with no hunger or desire... On that United teamsheet I wonder how many will still be there next season. Prove me wrong.

  17. Merseyside bluespublished at 12:04 British Summer Time 9 April 2022

Everton v Man Utd (12:30 BST)

Everton have lost 17 of their past 22 Premier League games (W3, D2).

They have lost seven home league games this season; only the three promoted sides have worse records.

Defeat would see the Toffees set a new club record of 19 losses in a 38-game Premier League season.

  18. 'Leeds have got mojo back'published at 12:01 British Summer Time 9 April 2022

    Watford v Leeds (15:00 BST)

    Mark Lawrenson
    BBC football expert

Watford were actually very competitive against Liverpool last weekend, they just didn't take their chances at Anfield.

It's not away from home where Watford are really struggling though - they have lost their past eight league games at Vicarage Road since beating Manchester United 4-1 in November, and have the worst home record in the top flight.

If they are going to stay up then that needs to change, and quickly, because five of their remaining eight games are at their place, starting with this one.

I actually think Leeds will beat them, though, because they seem to have got their mojo back.

Jesse Marsch has done extremely well since taking charge and picked up seven points from their past three games. Another win here would make them pretty much safe.

Kalvin Phillips should be able to play more of a part - and maybe even start - after coming off the bench in last week's draw with Southampton. His return to fitness is definitely going to help.

    Prediction: 1-2

  19. Pessimistic mood at Goodisonpublished at 11:59 British Summer Time 9 April 2022

Everton v Man Utd (12:30 BST)

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Goodison Park

Not saying the mood is pessimistic at Goodison Park but the first message I heard crackling over the stewards’ walkie-talkie in the car park was: "I hope they don’t go down."

Plenty more inside here today will feel exactly the same as Everton face Manchester United at Goodison Park but Frank Lampard’s side will have to show some better very soon to prevent what would be a catastrophe in football and terms for the Merseyside club.

  20. Early team newspublished at 11:57 British Summer Time 9 April 2022

    Watford v Leeds (15:00 BST)

Watford manager Roy Hodgson says he's able to pick from a fully fit squad for the visit of Leeds.

The Hornets are boosted by the return of Kwadwo Baah from a long-term ankle injury.

Leeds will still be without Patrick Bamford, Junior Firpo, Jamie Shackleton and Tyler Roberts.

Joe Gelhardt has not trained every day this week but manager Jesse Marsch hoped if he was able to train on Friday then he would be available.
