Anthony Gordon slides it across the box and Mason Holgate tries to place it into the bottom corner. It's deflected out for a corner.

A sad early finish for Andros Townsend but can Everton keep up the intensity they started with? That was a lengthy stoppage in play.

Everton have come out flying at Selhurst Park. The Crystal Palace side look a bit shaky in this opening part of the match. It could be because it's a very young team and the occasion is getting to them but either way they are lucky to not be 1-0 down. The fans are trying to get behind the home side but you can hear the tension in the air.

Palace can't get the ball at the moment. Everton have started with so much intensity. Conor Gallagher and Michael Olise try to move it out from the left but there's two players on them with each touch. It's eventually back with Jordan Pickford as Everton recycle it.

Richarlison has it again just outside the box but he fires it way over.

It's slid through to Richarlison from Anthony Gordon, who had broken through the middle.

The Brazilian shrugs off Conor Gallagher and goes down in the box appealing for another penalty. The offside flag is up.
