England captain Leah Williamson on BBC Radio 5 Live: "Nothing has changed (since becoming captain). I went back to my old school and they said 'you are still you'. What did they think was going to happen?

"I am feisty and very protective of my own. If someone says something to me am I just going to stand and smile? I would always have a laugh about it but some people don't find it funny.

"I have had arguments in house when you are trying to drive standards, I don't take that home with me. I like football so much because I have picked it up where I have left it."

The opposition for these friendlies were chosen by Sarina Wiegman and her staff to give England a variety of challenges before the Euros.

Belgium, the Netherlands and Switzerland are not in their group which is important.

Wiegman said Belgium are a side who have "developed a lot" and can do "a lot of things".

"They can play a possession game and have some good players," she added. "I think they are very good opponents."

Keep an eye on forward Tessa Wullaert. She won the FA Cup and League Cup double with Manchester City back in 2019 and has made over 100 appearances for Belgium. She scored four in their last game...

    On England's Euros group...

It's going to be tough, you'd expect England to get through their group. You'd think Norway will be the other one. A lot of their players play in the FAWSL.

You can't underestimate Northern Ireland in their first major tournament. They're underdogs. England have a lot of pressure, they're the home nation, they're one of the favourites.

  7. 'We are talking about execution'published at 19:32 British Summer Time 16 June 2022

    England v Belgium (20:00 BST)

Since Sarina Wiegman took over in September, England have remained unbeaten.

They have scored 72 goals and conceded just two but Wiegman has demaned more ruthlessness in front of goal.

She hopes by the time the Euros arrives in a few weeks, England will have become more clinical.

"It is still one of our goals and objectives. I think we have created a lot of chances but when you come into a tournament you will get less chances so you have to be ruthless," she said.

"What we are working on is how to create chances together as a team and how we can score the ones we get by making the right decisions, the right passes and things like that. We are talking about the right execution."

  19. Will we know Wiegman's defence?published at 18:52 British Summer Time 16 June 2022

    England v Belgium (20:00 BST)

    Emma Sanders
    BBC Sport at Molineux

Sarina Wiegman was not giving anything away in her press conference yesterday when I asked what things she was hoping to work on in these three friendly matches.

She did suggest her best starting XI wasn't fully decided and admitted there were things England need to do to refine their style of play.

I think we can expect to see more of the Keira Walsh-Leah Williamson pivot pairing in midfield and by the end of next week we might have a clearer idea of Wiegman's preferred backline.
