  1. Spurs to win 2-0?published at 11:41 British Summer Time 16 April 2022

    Tottenham v Brighton (12:30 BST)

Brighton got a brilliant win at Arsenal last weekend, but it is hard to see a repeat of that result on their return to north London, because Tottenham are absolutely flying at the moment.

Spurs have won their past four games and with the Gunners, Manchester United and West Ham all dropping points recently, they are now in a strong position in the race for fourth place.

A couple more wins, and they could be even further ahead. They will know that, and that should keep them focused.

    Lawro's prediction: 2-0

Antonio Conte thinks pressure should be "normal if you play for Tottenham".

Four successive wins have launched Spurs into pole position in the race for the top four and Conte is stressing the importance of every game in the final part of the season.

"It's an important moment," he said. "There are not many left to play and every game has to be a final.

"The importance of the game brings more pressure - that has to be normal for a club like Tottenham.

"The Champions League is a competition that every club, every player and every manager wants to play in. It can change your life."

  4. 'Smacks of blind panic'published at 11:33 British Summer Time 16 April 2022

    Phil McNulty
    BBC Sport chief football writer

Burnley's decision to sack manager Sean Dyche after almost a decade at Turf Moor is a huge gamble that smacks of blind panic by the club's owners.

If the Clarets stay in the Premier League, and they are currently four points from safety behind Everton with eight games left, Burnley's American chairman Alan Pace and his cohorts can congratulate themselves on a roll of the dice that paid off spectacularly.

If Burnley go down, they will be accused by many supporters of being guilty of a desperate, misguided move that removed the man who is still arguably their best chance of survival, even after a season where they have won only four league games, losing five of their last six.

Burnley have sacked manager Sean Dyche with eight games left of their season in the Premier League.

The Clarets, who have lost five of their last six top-flight games, are 18th and four points from safety.

Dyche was the Premier League's longest serving manager, having taken over at Turf Moor in October 2012.

Burnley chairman Alan Pace said it was "an incredibly difficult decision" to part company with the 50-year-old, but "we feel a change is needed".

Questions over player mentality and work ethic have been raised throughout Manchester United’s abysmal season. It’s time for an injection of fresh blood to spark a resurgence in the campaign.

United are a lost cause and still gripped by an identity crisis. However, promoting youth stars, which has been the heart of the club’s heritage, can ignite hope among supporters and boost a spiritless team.

While almost every position on the pitch needs strengthening, a major overhaul is a lengthy process that will require significant funds. Therefore, United’s academy should be given the chance to impress next season.

Ajax coach Erik ten Hag is the most likely candidate to succeed Ralf Rangnick. The aggressive and attacking style of football Ten Hag has implemented is a credit to him for developing young players into stars.

While plenty of questions loom large over Old Trafford, the bright future of the club’s youth prospects is not one of them.

Today, their fans are set to protest before the home match with the Premier League's bottom club in what is turning out to be another trophy-less season at Old Trafford.
