  3. KICK-OFFpublished at 21:05 British Summer Time 19 April 2022

    Liverpool 2-0 Man Utd

    Finally.

Right, do Manchester United have anything in them to turn the tide?

Or are we just going to watch Liverpool ease to these three points.

    United have made a change...

What is the ref doing? He's had his shirt off, played around with his earpiece and his arm radio.

You'd think he could have sorted this in the 15 minutes of half-time.

United are poor but that's the best half of football by a team this season

United have made a change for the second-half.

Jadon Sancho is on for Phil Jones, who looked knackered after 30 minutes. It's an attacking move, probably meaning a switch to a back four. Will it change anything, though?

We're going to have a delay to kick-off here as the ref sorts his equipment out (oop pardon).

Looks like his radio is playing up.

Tony Bartlett: 24% possession and zero shots at goal let alone on target. This is supposed to be a team looking to qualify for the Champions League, not playing out the season for a 12th place finish.

Lamide: Can't believe I actually went through with that....that was the most embarrassing half we've ever had. Shocking! No passion, no fight, no effort to even get anything right. What a mess these bunch of jokers are. I really fear for Ten Hag's sanity.

  9. Fulham on the uppublished at 20:58 British Summer Time 19 April 2022

Aleksandar Mitrovic has now scored 40 goals in the Championship.

His brace to night is helping fire Fulham back to the top flight.

If you'd rather follow that, you can do so here.

It has been total domination from Liverpool. They look like, if they want to, they can score with every attack.

It's tough for United. Fundamentally the running should be a given. When Manchester United win the ball back it's a struggle for them to string three passes together. It is all rushed and forced.

  11. Terrific Thiagopublished at 20:55 British Summer Time 19 April 2022

    HT: Liverpool 2-0 Man Utd

No surprise that Thiago Alcantara is grabbing plenty of the plaudits tonight.

The Liverpool midfielder has been imperious - and the stats show why.

Thiago has had more touches than anyone else on the pitch (68) and made more passes (60).

Guess how many of those passes have found a Liverpool team-mate? 59. Only one pass has gone astray.

    HT: Liverpool 2-0 Man Utd

For the second time this season, Manchester United have failed to have a shot attempt in a full period of a Premier League match, after their second half away at Manchester City (4-1 loss).

Liverpool had eight shot attempts in the first half.

  13. 'United have no answer'published at 20:49 British Summer Time 19 April 2022

    HT: Liverpool 2-0 Man Utd

    James McFadden
Former Scotland forward on BBC Radio 5 Live

Liverpool are in so much control. Some of their attacking play has been outstanding. It just looks like Liverpool are doing what they have to do.

Manchester United have no answer and they are yet to have a shot on target. It doesn't look as though that will change in the second half.

The long ball over the top is United's weapon of choice. They whip another and Marcus Rashford is almost in, but again second best to Alisson.

They are so dominant. They are absolutely cruising this game.

It is not just that United's players are chasing shadows, they're so ponderous on the ball. The number of times that a home player has nipped in and stolen the ball from an away player still weighing up the scant options ahead of him.

A non league side would be more organised than this. They are just walking about these United players. A disgrace to their Club. Liverpool playing ethereal football with Thiago orchestrating everything.

    Andy in Tavistock

Whilst all the messages about United being poor are true, you really have to hand it to Liverpool. They are a class outfit.
