    Birmingham 1-0 West Brom

Andy Carroll connects with a huge throw from Darnell Furlong... West Brom fans are almost on their feet...

    JUST WIDE.

    So close.

    Sutton 2-1 Rotherham

Sutton have just three and a half minutes of normal time to see out at Wembley.

It's tense, but Rotherham can't create that chance they need to drag this to extra time at the moment.

  3. Postpublished at 16:46 British Summer Time 3 April 2022

    Birmingham 1-0 West Brom

Scott Hogan breaks down the right for Birmingham, but his attempt to square the ball is gobbled up at the back.

Then West Brom make a push but the Blues deal with it. They just haven't shown the sufficient intent going forward that they need to get back into the game.

    Birmingham 1-0 West Brom

Krystian Pedersen darts across and makes a challenge to deny Callum Robinson a chance to shoot, after he's played into the Birmingham box. Massive challenge.

That was a chance for West Brom that they couldn't take.

The corner which follows was a wickedly swinging one that wasn't far away from dipping in.

Birmingham need to show some quality and not keep giving Albion the ball back.

They need to limit the entries into their half.

    Sutton 2-1 Rotherham

Freddie Ladapo goes close for RotherhamImage source, PA Media

Dean Bouzanis keeps his side's hands on the cup, as Ben Wiles sends Freddie Ladapo through one-on-one for Rotherham.

Bouzanis comes out and narrows the angle, and it works as a threaded effort by Ladapo is blocked.

    Absolutely superb.

    Sutton 2-1 Rotherham

Sutton are in survival mode at the moment, as Rotherham crank up the pressure.

They've got their enforcers on - Smith, Ladapo - but the introduction of Coby Rowe and the presence of their goalkeeper Dean Bouzanis is matching the physicality.

Albion need to keep going and show some passion.

They need to get it forward and try to put some pressure on Blues. They need to play off Andy Carroll.

  9. Postpublished at 16:38 British Summer Time 3 April 2022

    Birmingham 1-0 West Brom

Adam Reach is on for West Brom, Conor Townsend - who gave away the pen - makes way.

He's got a wand of a left-foot. They need him to wave it pretty effectively here.

    Birmingham 1-0 West Brom

Gary Gardner has just done something out of WWF wrestling, flying in to stop Alex Mowatt from getting the ball and then smashing into the advertising hoardings.

Baggies eventually put the ball in the box and it's a dangerous delivery but Blues clear.

Then Lyle Taylor hoys the ball at Andy Carroll and scraps with Callum Robinson. Blues taunting their opponents now. Certainly in wind-up mode.

Wow. It's suddenly all happening here.

Aside from the excitement of seeing that first shot on target, then came that bizarre piece of stupidity from Conor Townsend, stretching out his arm like a cricket umpire signalling a four to give away a needless penalty.

And now we have two attacking Albion subs on.

Steve Bruce had already countered before the penalty with the introduction of Grady Diangana, who scored a belter here when Albion last visited in December 2019.

And now we have big Andy Carroll on too. He almost always makes something happen.

    Sutton 2-1 Rotherham

Not seen much from Dan Barlaser today, who is the linkman in midfield for the Millers.

However, he does pick out Wes Harding on the right, and his cross is met by Freddie Ladapo - but he can only guide it at Dean Bouzanis.

What a cool penalty. Lyle Taylor literally walked up to the ball, waited for Sam Johnstone to commit himself and rolled the ball past him.

    Lyle Taylor pen (67 mins)

The most uneventful game has its moment, as Lyle Taylor steps up to crash a penalty past Sam Johnstone in the Baggies goal and give Birmingham the lead.

He was so nonchalant. Coolly done.

Blues have been better this half but certainly don't deserve to be ahead. Yet, that is not a factor in football. You make your own luck.

  15. PENALTY TO BIRMINGHAMpublished at 16:27 British Summer Time 3 April 2022

    Birmingham 0-0 West Brom

West Brom defender Conor Townsend deemed to have handled in the box to stop an Onel Hernandez clip back.

    Penalty for Birmingham.

    Sutton 2-1 Rotherham

Ben Wiles scuffs and drags a shot from distance but Dean Bouzanis just gets to it. It took a deflection off Omar Bugiel and the Sutton keeper is relieved.

Was going nowhere for Rotherham til then.

  17. Postpublished at 16:25 British Summer Time 3 April 2022

    Sutton 2-1 Rotherham

Rotherham have really gone direct, with Michael Smith as the totem pole up top.

One such driven ball in looks to pick him out but he just can't get over the ball to keep his header down.

Sutton's centre backs know they're under the pump in the next 25 minutes or so.

But they look slick on the attack, that said, Joe Kizzi's curling cross is an easy take at the back for the Millers.

There's not a lot of quality in this game, but somewhere along the line there will be a good chance.

  19. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 16:22 British Summer Time 3 April 2022

    Birmingham 0-0 West Brom

West Brom bring on Grady Diangana for Taylor Gardner-Hickman, trying to lift things in midfield.

He's got creativity, that's for sure.

  20. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 16:21 British Summer Time 3 April 2022

    Sutton 2-1 Rotherham

Rotherham ring the changes, with Freddie Ladapo on for Joshua Kayode and Wes Harding on for Ollie Rathbone.

Ladapo is a threat but only recently proved his full fitness to Paul Warne.
