That's a shocking challenge. I really do think he's lucky [to not see red]. He goes in with force, it's a shocking challenge.

Hibs had all of the momentum and all of the control. Now they have to probably sit back and pick and choose their moments to attack. It does make it a lot harder now for Hibs, no doubt about it.

Paul McGinn and Lewis Stevenson make way with Josh Campbell and Elias Melkersen coming on.

Can Hibs keep up this level of commitment with 10 men or will Hearts manage to hold firm and pick them off? The game is hugely disjointed now but still galloping along at a furious pace.

The Easter Road side have picked up a ludicrous number of red cards this season. Another of the issues facing rookie boss Shaun Maloney.

You felt it was coming because of his commitment to the challenge. He knows he's on a yellow card and, yes, you want to show you care but there is no way he can win the ball there. He's lunging it, it's just a crazy decision from Joe Newell.

  12. RED CARDpublished at 64 mins

    Hearts 2-1 Hibs

Hibs' Joe Newell is sent off less than 20 minutes into the second half.

Already on a yellow card from the 11th minute, he goes thundering into a challenge on Peter Haring when he appeared to have little chance of winning the ball.

Just as Hibs were on top, has Newell taken their cup dreams down the tunnel with him?

The second half has been all about Hibs and all about Hibs' attacking threat. Hearts, however, have stood up to it all so far.

    Hearts 2-1 Hibs

We had three goals in the first half but the second half has probably been a better game so far in the opening 15 minutes. Both sides are flying into challenges now, Hibs sense they can get an equaliser and are edging it.

That is a sensational save, it is incredible from Craig Gordon. Porteous did everything right to get there but it is a wonderful save. This has been a great start to the second half for Hibs.

What a save from Craig Gordon.

Ryan Porteous is unmarked at the corner kick, heads towards the bottom far corner, but Gordon gets a hand to it to nudge it onto the post.

Hearts a looking a little bit ragged and Hibs have started the second half well. Joe Newell wins a corner and the noise levels from the expectant Hibs support rises.

It doesn't come to much, but Hibs keep it alive and Newell has a shot deflected wide for another corner.

Hearts look like they may have to make another enforced change.

Craig Halkett is in pain after stretching for a challenge. A stretcher has been called for and this is bad news for Hearts and Scotland.

Taylor Moore is the man being readied to come on.

Andy Halliday already limped off early for Hearts in the first half.
