The Hearts fans, and everybody else, are seeing just how good a manager Robbie Neilson is this season. He's made really strong additions to the side. He would have set that target to go and finish third, despite some people probably saying that was unrealistic for a newly-promoted side.

It's been fast and furious, as expected, and Hearts lead, as expected, but it's been far from a one-sided affair, with Hibs in a snarling mood.

Two sumptuous strikes had the Jambos in raptures, with some fans in the other end heading for the exits on 21 minutes.

However, Chris Cadden's immediate response and Liam Boyce shooting inches wide moments before the break keep the tie alive.

If the players can keep this pace up, we should be in for another barnstorming 45 minutes.

It's been breathtaking, it has been played at a ferocious pace. I think there have been a few things put right by Hibs from last weekend, they've probably shaded it for me in terms of the football played so far.

Three goals in six minutes have lit up the first half.

Ellis Simms thumped Hearts ahead, then Stephen Kingsley scored a sublime second goal.

But Hibs hit back quickly with Chris Cadden scoring on the rebound to keep themselves in it.

That's a huge opportunity for Liam Boyce! We're so used to seeing him take them and I thought he was set to lift it over Matt Macey but he didn't get his shot off properly I don't think

  10. CLOSE!published at 46 mins

    Hearts 2-1 Hibs

Huge opportunity for Hearts to restore their two-goal lead before the break.

Liam Boyce breaks clear of the defence with the goal at his mercy, but he doesn't catch the shot right and it slithers past the far post.

Toby Sibbick gets under the corner kick and heads away, and Paul McGinn can't keep the ball in play for Hibs.

We will have three minutes added on at the end of the first half.

Ewan Henderson has terrific skill but he lacks power. He's lacking in his upper body strength and he got brushed aside by Toby Sibbick

Hibs have to try and commit more going forward to try and cause Hearts more problems. It's quite comfortable for Hearts to defend at the moment, so they have to take risks at times

Andy Halliday could be exiting the action early.

He scored twice in the derby at Tynecastle last week, but has not managed to shake off an early injury and is down receiving treatment.

    Aaron McEneff will replace him

    Hearts 2-1 Hibs

Ewen Henderson is having a good game for Hibs. He plays a neat one-two but can't get his shot away.

Then a cross from Chris Cadden bypasses the box but lands at Henderson who keeps it alive, but Craig Gordon snatches the ball out of the air.

    Hearts 2-1 Hibs

After an astonishing six minutes, the action has quietened a little.

Lewis Stevenson sends in a cross but can't reach his team-mater and Hearts keeper Craig Gordon collects.

At the other end Liam Boyce closes down Matt Macey and panics him into conceding a throw in. Barrie McKay then launches a shot at goal but it's blocked.
