  1. Neilson intrigued by Hibs changespublished at 12:00 British Summer Time 16 April 2022

    Hearts v Hibs (12:15)

Hearts manager Robbie Neilson tells BBC Scotland: "There is a slight change to the formation, but it's more interesting to see what Hibs will do. They made five changes from last week and have a lot of experience in that team.

"I expect Hibs to be more direct than they usually are in the initial stages of the game and we have to deal with that. When the ball comes to the ground we have a lot of good players and we want to play football.

"It's a derby, doesn't matter if it's at Tynecastle or Hampden, the players understand that they have to win it and what comes off the back of that is great. Whether that's Europe or cup finals it's a derby.

"We brought almost 22 thousand fans here and we want to send them home happy."

  3. The carrot of European richespublished at 11:52 British Summer Time 16 April 2022

    Hearts v Hibs (12:15)

It is the second time in three seasons that the Edinburgh rivals have met at the last-four stage.

Hibs have never beaten Hearts at Hampden in the Scottish Cup but did reach last year's final.

Last week, the sides met in the Scottish Premiership and hosts Hearts prevailed 3-1.

That result ensured that Robbie Neilson's Hearts will finish third, while Hibs dropped to seventh, missing out on a top-six finish.

Saturday's winners will face either Celtic or Rangers, who play on Sunday and are already assured of the two Champions League spots because of their league positions.

Victory for Hearts will therefore seal a Europa League play-off, which comes with it a guaranteed spot in the Europa Conference League group stage should they lose that tie.

Hibs would need to lift the cup for a fourth time to take that European spot.

  4. Happy birthdaypublished at 11:47 British Summer Time 16 April 2022

    Hearts v Hibs (12:15)

It's the week of your wedding anniversary and today is your wife's birthday. But your team are also playing their Edinburgh rivals at Hampden.

Do you pick love or football?

My good friend Alan Strevens had that dilemma this week. Sarah fancied a weekend in Paris, maybe a shopping trip in London. She was even prepared for a simple walk up a Munro with her beloved.

He's currently on his way to Hampden. Sarah is at home with the kids.

Happy birthday Sarah. Maybe he'll take you to the final...

  6. Hearts unchanged, Hibs make five changespublished at 11:39 British Summer Time 16 April 2022

    Hearts v Hibs (12:15)

Hearts are unchanged from their 3-1 win last weekend over Hibs. They also have Cammy Devlin back on the bench.

    Hibs, though, make five changes.

Rocky Bushiri, Josh Doig, Elias Melkersen, Chris Mueller are all on the bench, while last week's goalscorer Drey Wright doesn't make the squad.

In come defenders Lewis Stevenson, Ryan Porteous and Paul McGinn, midfielder Ewan Henderson and Hull City's on-loan forward James Scott

  10. Welcomepublished at 11:28 British Summer Time 16 April 2022

Heart of Midlothian v Hibernian (12:15)

It's here, it's finally match day.

My team are not even close to being good enough to make it to Hampden this year, but I'm buzzing for this one. When Edinburgh converges on Glasgow it's always a special occasion.

Bookies favour the Hearts. But Hibs have upset the odds at the national stadium already this season. This one could be a cracker, and even if it's not I promise you we'll have fun anyway.

Live on BBC One Scotland, full radio commentary on BBC Radio Scotland DAB/810MW/online, and constant updates from myself, you won't miss a beat of the build-up, the game, or the reaction afterwards.
