This World Cup has been held in an area the space of West Yorkshire, with fans from all nations coming together in stadium, on the metro and in downtown Doha.

"I met some Dutch people in Msheireb and they are really enjoying it," said Qatar legacy ambassador Ronald de Boer.

"They went to Souq Waqif and saw all the different nationalities together, spending time with each other. They said the atmosphere was unbelievable.

"That is already what I’ve experienced, but it’s good to hear other people say it as well.

"That’s the beauty of a compact World Cup like this one here in Qatar. You can really feel that a World Cup is going on everywhere you go."

Former Netherlands international Ronald de Boer, who played at the 1994 and 1998 World Cups, has said his country need a result tonight and ensure there are no slip-ups in finishing second in Group A.

He said: "There will be an expectation that the Netherlands will win this game and finish first in the group.

"The key is that the performance must be much better than the Ecuador game. The coach Louis van Gaal knows there is a lot of work to do, as he is still trying to find the shape that he wants the team to play and who complements each other on the pitch.

"You want to end the group stage in the best way possible with a good result and having played good football."

The Dutch fans have made their way to the stadium in their colourful march. I saw similar scenes for the Women's Euros when they were playing in Sheffield and it is an impressive sight to see.

It's the trek up north to Al Khor for Qatar's Group A match against the Netherlands.

It's around 34 miles from Doha to here and with most of the motorway being clear, the journey took around 40 minutes.

But as you get to the stadium, there are road closures and diversions in place, taking you onto another motorway before bringing you back round to Al Bayt.

Hosts Qatar have only pride to play for tonight, they scored a goal in their last game now can they round off by getting at least a point?

This lot look like they are going to enjoy themselves. Talk about bringing the party to the World Cup.

The good news for Ecuador is that star man and the World Cup's current joint top scorer Enner Valencia has been declared fit despite coming off with a knee injury late on in Friday's 1-1 draw with the Netherlands.

La Tri make two changes from that game though with Alan Franco and Carlos Gruezo coming into the midfield for Jackson Porozo and the suspended Jhegson Mendez.

Ecuador XI: Galindez, Angelo Preciado, Torres, Hincapie, Estupinan, Franco, Gruezo, Caicedo, Plata, Estrada, Valencia.

Senegal, meanwhile, make three changes for the must-win Group A finale as Aliou Cisse brings in Sheffield United forward Iliman Ndiaye, Pape Gueye and Pathe Ciss.

The Netherlands make two changes from the side that drew 1-1 against Ecuador last time out.

Former Manchester United winger Memphis Depay and ex-Middlesbrough midfielder Marten de Roon come in, with Teun Koopmeiners and Steven Bergwijn dropping out.

Hosts Qatar make just one change from the 3-1 defeat by Senegal which ended any hopes of progressing to the knockout stage.

Here's how things are looking in Group A, where two of three teams will secure their place in the last 16 and the other will join Qatar in exiting early.

The Netherlands face the tournament hosts knowing a win or a draw will see them through. They can even afford a defeat if Ecuador beat Senegal in the other group game.

The Ecuador-Senegal match will likely be a winner takes all scenario. A draw is unlikely to be enough for Senegal to progress.

After the joy of four games a day we are down to mornings off and matches kicking off at the same time as teams look to secure their place in the knockouts.
