    Netherlands 1-0 Qatar

A really nice passing spell for Qatar at the moment, but it is all in safe areas.

There is something there, they look pretty decent in the build up but there's just no threat in the final third to trouble the Dutch defence.

    Ismaila Sarr

How big could that goal be? Ismaila Sarr holds his nerve and strokes the ball past Ecuador's motionless goalkeeper Hernan Galindez.

Huge celebrations from the Lions of Teranga.

    Ecuador 0-0 Senegal

Clumsy from Piero Hincapie, who tries to come across on the cover but just clatters into Ismaila Sarr, with the Senegal forward through on goal. Nailed on penalty.

    Netherlands 1-0 Qatar

Commentator on BBC Radio 5 Live

Qatar are probably enjoying their best spell of the game. They’re trying to get crosses into the box and Virgil van Dijk is not happy with his teammates, who he feels are not closing down as well as they could.

Caicedo got away with one there. It was a two footed jump into the tackle with Sarr, he's come worse off for it. Sarr went down and slid in.

He was completely out of control and landed two footed into the ground. If that was Sarr's leg, the referee would have had to go and have a look I think.

Look away Brighton fans. Ecuador midfielder Moises Caicedo is down. Looks like he's just gone down heavily on his ankle.

After a little bit of treatment he's up and moving around. Looks like he should be okay.

Marten De Roon capitalises on poor defending to slip a pass in for Cody Gakpo, who takes a touch right on the edge of the box before hammering over. The flag is up anyway for offside.

Netherlands really are looking strong. I'm hoping they meet France in the knockouts, what a match that would be!

Gakpo is the real deal. We need him at united as we don't have enough options at number nine.

Another chance for Qatar to do something as they have the ball on the right. The cross comes in but only Almoez Ali is there and the Netherlands clear.

Felix Sanchez should be screaming at his players to get into the box because the opportunities have been there.

A touch of panic at both ends. Kalidou Koulibaly's loose pass across the face of the Senegal area is almost collected by Michael Estrada.

Then up at the other end Hernan Galíndez is out to dive at the feet of Boulaye Dia to save the day for Ecuador.

A nice move by Qatar down the left as Abdelkarim Hassan is sent away but he has no-one in the box to support him. The hosts need to gamble more. Nothing to lose so may as well go for it.

There's a huge bank of Ecuadorian fans on the far side but these drums are so loud that you can see them singing and clapping but you can't hear them.

    Ecuador 0-0 Senegal

Ecuador have faced six shots against Senegal in this match, just one fewer than they did in the entirety of their games against Qatar and the Netherlands combined.

Anything but comfortable for the South Americans.

Doesn't look like changing their shape has helped so far.

It's not working for Ecuador. They are so narrow and tight in midfield. There is no out ball for them out wide. Ecuador need to have more width higher up the pitch. It's so tight and condensed when they get the ball.

The stands inside the Khalifa International Stadium are alive with the sounds of drums and at the moment the Senegal side are very much playing to their beat.

Ecuador really just need to keep hold of the ball.

Cody Gakpo with his size, power and talent has the potential to mix it at the top of world football. It’ll not be long before he gets a move to big European club.

Leeds were heavily linked with a move for Cody Gakpo in the summer. If that had come off it is clear they would have got themselves one heck of player. He's been brilliant so far at this World Cup aside from the goals he has scored.

Must have tripled his price tag by now.
