You don't always have to win the game in the first half but Wales need to improve drastically. They've got to be sharper, move the ball quicker and when we get the chance to put the ball into the penalty area, make the most of it.

    Wales 0-0 Iran

Wales almost play themselves into trouble again and this time it's Aaron Ramsey.

    Uncharacteristic.

A huge 45 minutes. Their World Cup dream depends on this half.

The quality wasn't there in the first half. We all cried out for Kieffer Moore to play but they have not got the ball into him with anything for him to attack. We know the carnage he could cause the Iranian defenders.

Hopefully Robert Page has got that over to the Wales players.

Wales are absolutely dreadful at the moment. We deserve to go home on this showing.

Wales are back out first for the second half.

The Iranian players enter to a huge ovation.

    All to play for.

    Everything in the balance.

No changes from either side, we go again.

Wales fans have flocked to Qatar for their team's second game of the 2022 World Cup.

The national team are playing in the competition for the first time since 1958.

Supporters have described how watching Wales in the tournament has been a "lifelong dream" and a "once in a lifetime" occasion.

And judging by the singing, they are certainly going to make the most of it.

It's been a harum-scarum first half as this graphic of players' average positions illustrates.

Iran are pushing forward in a fluid formation and it's a good job Wales number six Joe Rodon has been so deep to snuff them out.

Up front for Wales, Gareth Bale (11), Kieffer Moore (13) and Harry Wilson (8) are almost playing on top of each other. Robert Page may take a look at that over half-time.

I'd like to see Brennan Johnson come on, a bit of freshness and speed. Everything's too predictable at the moment and Iran know exactly what to expect.

Arguably the loudest stadium I've ever been in.

I've got a watch that tells me when I've been subjected to excessive noise levels - it's completely given up.

It's almost like a home game for Iran. There's an elderly gentleman sat near me who seems to be orchestrating the whole crowd.

I've never heard a goal kick or a throw in celebrated so loudly.

    The atmosphere is top notch.

Wales would like to see Moore of this kind of thing. It was their biggest chance by a long way.

If they can show a bit more patience and a bit more quality in that final third, I think if they get the first goal they will go and get two maybe three.

Fifa has told World Cup venues to let rainbow-coloured hats and flags into stadiums for the remainder of the Qatar tournament.

Former Wales women's captain Laura McAllister was told to remove her rainbow coloured bucket hat when entering the stadium for the game against USA.

But it looks like she has managed to keep a hold of it today.

1.5 games in from Wales, and nothing to suggest they deserve a place in the knockout stages. They're dreadful.

Iran have been better, let's be honest. They've created more chances and given our defence much more to do than we've given theirs. When they win the ball in their box, they look dangerous every time.

I'm sitting here thinking Wales are lucky to be going in to the break with the score 0-0.

When you watch the Iranian team, they are technically very good. We didn't see that in the England game at all.

If Wales get out of this and win this game, what a job they have done.

Sho: Wales awful so far. As bad as the first half against USA. But this time Moore is playing.

Kev: Despite all the gushing headlines, Bale, Ronaldo and Messi are absolute shadows of their glory years and it’s really sad to see.

Jamsie Boy!: From where I'm sitting (in Ireland) the match is a good 'un - Wales needs to sharpen midfield but other than that... looking good... and Iran have a certain spring in their step too.

A draw is no good, as it goes on the game will get more spicy.

But this has been a better half for Wales than against the USA.
