Wales are firmly in containment mode here. It is more important that they stay in this game for the time being. Not concede. A 1-0 win could be enough for them.

Ethan Ampadu against Harry Maguire is something we don't want to see too often. That's a bit of a mismatch.

I think that free-kick routine was what you call over-complicating something.

    You have got to shoot.

Kenny, Edinburgh: Would love to see Luke Shaw take players on, get to the bye line and cross it into the box. Almost always ends up passing it backwards. So frustrating.

Matt Baird: Am still yet to understand what Jordan Henderson brings to this England team. Hoping to be proven wrong but this opening 15 hasn't helped his case.

Southgate needs to go. Should have been moved on a year ago. We need Poch. He can stop this overly defensive approach. We need to let the attacking talent that we have in abundance go forth and score score score!!!

I like what Wales are doing. They are making England try to break them down and looking for the transition.

They just need a bit more quality in their transition phase.

They are only going to get two or three moments throughout this game. I think if they get the right quality in those moments, they can hurt England.

It is still 0-0 in the other game between Iran and the USA so we're no clearer yet as to how this group might shake out.

England are seeing much more of the ball and they will have gained real encouragement from the manner in which one pass from Harry Kane was able to cut the Wales defence wide open.

Manager Gareth Southgate will also be satisfied that Wales are being kept well away from any threatening positions.

The average positions from the opening 10 minutes tell the story of the game - England pressing high and dominating possession.

It's a really good opportunity one on one.

Harry Kane dropped into that pocket and instantly he gives an assist to his team-mate.

Marcus Rashford in that situation - we have seen him finishing those frequently this season.

The early signs suggest Wales are still getting to grips with this new formation, one they've played with in recent years but nowhere near as frequently as the 3-4-3 and 3-5-2 systems which manager Robert Page favours.

It's all been a bit disjointed from Wales in possession so far, whereas England's midfielders look totally at ease on the ball.
