When Wales do try and get forward, England can just catch them out. It's that constant cat-and-mouse game that Wales are in at the moment.

News from the other game... the USA have taken the lead.

It means if it stays like that, Wales need to score four here.

Wow! This is slick. The flick from Jude Bellingham and you knew Phil Foden would get a shot off, trying to bend it into that far corner. That's what England can do when they turn up the gears. They can cut through you and have the quality.

    Wales 0-0 England

The first real effort in anger from Wales as Joe Allen's shot is blocked.

It is followed soon after by a Marcus Rashford effort at the other end - the Man Utd forward going all Richarlison on us with an acrobatic volley. The difference... the Brazilian's effort went in.

Connor Roberts is going to have to work his way into the game.

He has to be defensively sound and disciplined up against a top, top player in Marcus Rashford.

Wales want to keep that structural solidity going up until half-time.

He won't want to come off, it's a big game. I feel for him, Neco Williams, He's given everything in the shirt and always does for club and country.

    Chance for England!

Wales want a free-kick as Kieffer Moore goes down following a challenge from Declan Rice. The ref waves their protests away and England counter with a slick move to set up Phil Foden to fire over with a shot on the turn.

Excellent play to get there but a poor finish.

    The answer is no.

Connor Roberts is on for Williams. A change Wales would rather not have had to make.

Neil: We are absolutely shocking. No tactics, players not really knowing what they should be doing and to be honest, Phil Foden is doing about as much as Mason Mount usually does.

Jordan Henderson not playing great. Too many loose balls and lacking something. Bring Jude Bellingham back and put Mason Mount on or perhaps Kalvin Phillips

    Kash

Neco Williams is down again. He's clearly still suffer the affects of that ball to the head.

It's a different role for Jude Bellingham tonight. He's playing higher up the pitch and he's got Declan Rice and Jordan Henderson operating in that area where he normally likes to be and making those surging runs from a bit deeper.

At the moment, he's picking the ball up in like a number 10 position with his back for goal. It's a different requirement for him.

    It's one-way traffic.

Unfortunately for England, they're in a golf cart at the moment.

That Harry Maguire shot had an xG of 0.02 according to Opta.

Seems at least 0.01 too generous.

  18. Postpublished at 32 mins

Harry Maguire gets delusions of grandeur!

He charges forward, but is allowed to go further than he probably thought he would be. He looks up, sees the goal and fires a very wayward shot off target.

Leave that stuff to the other Harry, eh.

Wales need to try and get some balls in to Kieffer Moore, win some free-kicks. They just need to try and get higher up the pitch.

Wales are really struggling to string any kind of passing move together. At some point they are going to have to as they need a win here.
