  1. Goodbye

    .

Time to close this live text but there's loads of football stuff happening right now.

Head here for all the latest on Cristiano Ronaldo leaving Manchester United. There is also build-up to the fourth and final World Cup game of the day as holders France start their defence against Australia.

    Until next time.

  2. Post update

    FT Mexico 0-0 Poland

It's Argentina next for Mexico on Saturday at 19:00 GMT. Earlier the same day, Poland face Group C leaders Saudi Arabia at 13:00.

  3. 'There was real moments of action and excitement'

    FT: Mexico 0-0 Poland

    Matt Upson

Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

It wasn't the worst 0-0 I have ever seen. There was real moments of action and excitement. I think whenever you watch Mexico they bring excitement but they lacked cutting edge. Almost the exact opposite for Poland who lack that dynamic wing play but have Robert Lewandowski who normally comes up with the goods.

  4. Stalemate

    FT: Mexico 0-0 Poland

Following a 0-0 draw between Denmark and Tunisia, this is the first time since 25 June 2010 multiple World Cup games result in goalless draws on the same day. Back then, Portugal-Brazil and Switzerland-Honduras ended 0-0.

  5. 'Something in the air'

    FT: Mexico 0-0 Poland

    Rio Ferdinand

Former England defender on BBC One

It was a penalty, I thought so initially and then you see the shirt tug on the slow-motion replay.

I didn't fancy him - as much as a great player and scorer he is, there was something in the air.

He didn't hit it clean and it was a great save in the end.

  6. FULL-TIME

    Mexico 0-0 Poland

Who had Saudi Arabia to be two points clear at the top of a group containing Argentina, Mexico and Poland?

  7. Post update

    Mexico 0-0 Poland

Seconds left. Poland are inside Mexico's half...

  8. Post update

    Mexico 0-0 Poland

There have been five shots on target today - three for Mexico, two for Poland.

Being honest, I think we expected more.

  9. Post update

    Mexico 0-0 Poland

Chance for Poland. Jakub Kaminski is denied by Ochoa.

  10. Post update

    Mexico 0-0 Poland

Lots of hit and hope. It's chaotic out there.

  11. Post update

    Mexico 0-0 Poland

    Martin Keown

Former England defender on BBC One

Argentina will be thinking, we've lost the first game but look at this lot.

Surely they've got to be better.

  12. Post update

    Mexico 0-0 Poland

If it stays like this, it's a good result for Argentina.

  13. Post update

    Mexico 0-0 Poland

A hopeful ball is lofted into the Polish box. It's dealt with and Poland are on the attack.

  14. Post update

    Mexico 0-0 Poland

SEVEN minutes of added time. Where. Has. That. Come. From?

  15. Post update

    Mexico 0-0 Poland

    Matt Upson

Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Kamil Glik is a tough, rugged centre half he should jump straight back up from that. But it is great play, just taking his time and slowing down the game.

  16. Post update

    Mexico 0-0 Poland

TV is still showing replays of Lewandowski's penalty save. He looks absolutely gutted.

Robert Lewandowski reacts to his saved penalty
  17. Post update

    Mexico 0-0 Poland

Matty Cash is at the centre of Poland's latest attack. It comes to nothing in the end. Play has been stopped. A Polish player is down.

  18. Post update

    Mexico 0-0 Poland

Three minutes plus stoppages. We're heading for stalemate but here come Poland...

  19. Post update

    Mexico 0-0 Poland

Can you award man of the match to the fans? Mexico's supporters have been outstanding. And they're still roaring their team forward.

  20. Post update

First penalty missed at the last three World Cups:

    2022: Robert Lewandowski.2018: Lionel Messi.2014: Karim Benzema.
