Mexico 0-0 Poland
It's not been a great World Cup for GOATS and strikers so far.
No Benzema. No Salah. No Haaland. Lewandowski penalty miss. Messi loses to Saudi Arabia. Now Ronaldo has no club to go back to.

In among all the World Cup mayhem, some fairly major breaking news to bring you from the Premier League.,..
Cristiano Ronaldo has left Manchester United with immediate affect.

Raul Jimenez is galloping towards the Poland net but Matty Cash stands up to the Mexican. Good defending.

I know I said it wasn't Robert Lewandowski's best penalty but Guillermo Ochoa has anticipated that perfectly. He took a little shimmy to the other side but as soon as the 'keeper went the right way it was a pretty simple save.

The tempo has slowed dramatically - is this the lull before the storm?
Mexico 0-0 Poland
Into the final 10 minutes. We've had goals in the 99th and 103rd minutes at this World Cup. Are we in for more late drama?
Mexico 0-0 Poland
Mexico have put 24 crosses in so far in this game but they have generally been gobbled up by Poland's imposing back three.
Raul Jimenez should offer a new aerial threat to give the Poles something to think about.

The attendance has been announced. It's a 40,000 capacity ground and there are 39,369 in it. It sounds like 390,000.

I'm sure if Lewandowski gets another chance, he'll take it.
I'm just not sure he'll get another chance.
Mexico 0-0 Poland
Robert Lewandowski won't want to see this. But you can....

Two goalless draws in one day at the World Cup? No, no, no. We don't want that. Fifteen minutes of normal time left.
Mexico 0-0 Poland
Aside from the penalty, Poland have created next-to-nothing.
This graphic either shows they have spread their attacks perfectly on both flanks.
Or it shows they at least have shared out how blunt their attack has been.

I think they should have got Jimenez on sooner.
I know he's had his problems and been injured but I expect him to be much more of a target man.
The order of the day for Mexico now is to get the ball wide, get crosses in and let him pull on the defender.
He's certainly an upgrade - Martin has not really been in the match.

Great to see Jimenez on the pitch and don't be surprised to see him play a key part in this game. Fitness almost doesn't matter if there is a ball to be won in the box.
Mexico 0-0 Poland
In addition to Raul Jimenez, Carlos Rodríguez is also on for Mexico. Poland have sent on Przemyslaw Frankowski.

Robert Lewandowski returned to the tried-and-trusted with today's spotkick, slotted to the right (number three is hidden below number four) as shown by the picture below.
When he goes that way, though, he doesn't find the corner.
It looks like Guillermo Ochoa had done his homework.

We wanted a goal but the atmosphere has gone up another level since that Robert Lewandowski penalty miss. That was his golden moment and he wasted it. Will he get another chance? He's barely had a sniff in open play.
Mexico 0-0 Poland
Wolves fans: Raul Jimenez is coming on. He has not played for his club since 31 August because of injury.

Twenty minutes left. It's all Mexico and now they are making a couple of changes.

This feels like a home game for Mexico and you'd think they would take advantage of that.
I don't know if that brings pressure with it - but they seem to be playing with freedom. They just don't have anybody up the top of the team for them.
