Sloppy from Mexico who give the ball away inside their own half and Poland spring forward on the counter. The ball is driven in hard to Lewandowski but it's too hard and he cannot control it. Danger over for Mexico - for now.

Hector Moreno was always struggling to get over the ball at full stretch. The cross takes a little deflection and he cannot get over it and the ball floats over the bar.

Mexico dangerman Hirving Lozano has only had one touch in the opening exchanges and is hugging the right wing.

That touch was a menacing cross though so they need to find a way of getting him involved in the game.

I like Mexico's shape, I've been impressed and they certainly want to play out from the back.

Poland are not really pressing the ball, they are sitting back, allowing Mexico to build their attacks.

A looping ball is sent into the Poland box and Hector Moreno leaps for it but gets the angles all wrong with his header. He lands awkwardly and is holding his back.

Mexico are responding to their supporters so far. You can see the energy. They are taking the game to Poland.

Robert Lewandowski carries an aura about him but even he isn't silencing the crowd. When a corner came to him and he headed it on target, the boos were just as loud.

It's hostile and it's brilliant.

Now Poland are enjoying a decent spell of pressure. Alexis Vega gets back to end an attack. Both defences are on top.

Great scenes in the stands. Many Mexico fans have come dressed in national costume. They have brought colour and excitement with them. Will their team bring goals?

Kamil Glik is the fifth player to reach 100 caps for Poland after Robert Lewandowski, Jakub Błaszczykowski, Michał Zewłakow and Grzegorz Lato.

He's also their oldest player at a World Cup finals, at 34 years and 297 days.

It was a chance but a tough one. The ball is whipped across with real pace by Lozano and Vega arrived, but it was quite an angle and coming at a difficult height. He would have done well to get it on target.

An early test for the Mexican defence. Poland have a corner and it reaches Robert Lewandowski whose header hits an opposition player and goes out for another corner.

Very much a 4-3-3 system for Mexico. Poland not so easy to work out and their manager is renowned for changing his formation game to game.

I think it's a back three here for Poland - and that's the way to get the best out of Matty Cash, moving forward into advanced positions.

But Mexico are zipping the ball around really well early on here.

This is a game you must not lose now, rather than you must win.

What a cross by Hirving Lozano! He darts down the wing before fizzing it into the danger area but a green shirt scuffs the connection.

That was a big opportunity for Mexico.

Now Nicola Zalewski has gone down after a shove to the back of his head. The good news for Poland is he's not seriously hurt. Play resumes after a short delay.
